St. Louis Kolache — Restaurant in Cottleville

The first time I went in the owner was very friendly and everything was delicious. Especially the cream cheese kolaches. They were light and fluffy and filled up with cream cheese filling. The last three times I went in the cream cheese kolaches were abysmal. I can get much better danishes for less money at Heaven Scent or Schnucks. I contacted the store to see if they could correct it. My messenger contact is pasted below. -------- I just bought some cheese kolaches this morning. I believe this is my 4th trip in. I love your products but your cream cheese kolaches quality has declined considerably. The first time I was in the CC kolaches were large and soft. They had ample cheese filling that was thick on top and extended into the center. Rather than leave you a poor review, I wanted to post the feedback here so you could react and correct this. Please put more filling in your cream cheese kolaches. I was hoping my second visit was a fluke, but the 3rd visit was equally disappointing. Today's visit was the worst in terms of quality. The CC kolaches were flat (dough had not risen) and they barely had any cream cheese topping/filling. I won't buy kolaches again if this doesn't improve. They just aren't worth the price. During this interaction, the manager/owner made me feel as if I was lying about it. Instead of addressing the issue, he told me we always use the same amount of cream cheese in our kolaches, which made me feel as though he thought I was lying. Well I have only been here once so I will try not to be too harsh as maybe it was just that EVERYONE was having a horrible day. I ordered online to save time (so I thought). I used the Box they have under each menu item for special requests as they did not seem to have the item I wanted specifically. Everything went fine with the ordering process and then I went to pick them up. Then the issues started. The girl couldn't find my order, so I showed her on my phone and magically there it was. So she didn't start "making" my food until that point. Then she proceeded to tell me they could add ham, per my special request, because the kolaches are pre-made. Wait, then why do you have a special request box in the first place!? (by the way the example given in the request box specifically says "No Jalapeno, or add bacon") And why am I getting charged these prices for pre-made frozen food!? I didn't go to QT. So I just sucked it up and substituted what I could and after a 10 minute wait I left. When I got home (4 minutes later) the kolaches were refrigerator cold! What did they do when they were "making them when I was there? I would NOT recommend this place unless you like paying triple the price for gas...

I had nothing but good things to say about this location until I picked up my order. I had placed my online order 5 days prior to pick-up and had received a confirmation email. I had called to add on to my order only to find out they had never received an order for 30 kolache’s. After speaking with Jessica the manager, which was very helpful, she ended up getting things straightened out and it ended up being something with the website. When picking up my order the man with pink hair at the front pushed my order towards me with no words. I asked him a question about hours and his reply was “yep”. Completely unprofessional, and there was no reason to be rude or bitter, as this was a simple mistake. I made sure to tell this young man happy new year and I meant it. Still no reply..(all playing out in front of customers). PEOPLE, please be nice to one another.
