Old Town Donuts in Cottleville is a true doughnut lover's paradise, and it's time to sing its praises!

From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the warm, comforting aroma of freshly baked doughnuts. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming.

Now, let's get to the main attraction: the doughnuts. Old Town Donuts crafts these delightful treats to perfection. Whether you're a fan of classic glazed, sprinkled, or more adventurous flavors, they have a doughnut to suit every craving. I can't resist their apple fritter – it's pure bliss in every bite, and the texture is just heavenly.

The doughnuts are not only delicious but also reasonably priced. You get exceptional quality and taste without breaking the bank, making it an ideal spot for a sweet treat anytime.

What truly sets Old Town Donuts apart is their commitment to excellence. Their doughnuts are always fresh, and you can taste the quality in each mouthful. The variety they offer ensures that there's something for everyone, from traditionalists to adventurous eaters.

We stopped by the O'Fallon shop around 12:30 one Tuesday afternoon. We were delighted they had such a variety at that time of day. We found the cake donuts to be beyond perfection. A slight crunch on the outside with a moist, fresh tasting cake inside. Not even a hint that they had been fried. The quintessential donut. However. I also ordered my personal favorite: a turnover type pastry, made from either pie crust dough or flaky filo dough, with a cherrie filling. When I got home, I settled in with a cup of tea and my pastry. It was not tender and flaky. It was hard. I had trouble biting into the several very tough layers of cardboard like "shell". I thought the second bite would be better. Not. And very scant cherry filling. So, I could only surmise that either the baker didn't have the least idea of how to work with pastry or filo dough. Or, the particular turnover I was given was old. Like really, really old. And stale. It should have been rotated out of that glass cabinet 6 days prior to when it was sold to me. I felt personally insulted to have been presented with such an unacceptable product. Like I was the "stooge"customer they could dump it on. And it was a premium priced item! For that reason, I am gving Olde Towne Donuts 3...

The donut lover in me has an appreciation for this place. Always has fresh donuts that are loaded with sugar. They usually have custard, frosting, and jelly donuts here. Apple fritters and other pastries are good too. Tried their iced coffee for the first time and it was good. If you are a donut enthusiast, you must try their gooey butter cake donut.

I wish they offered some gluten free options, but one visit to this place will tell you that their business model and brand works, so they probably don't even worry about catering to the likes of vegans and gluten free people. I just throw caution to the wind and eat here anyways if you can handle it.

The parking lot could use a repaving and needs parking stripes, but I understand that they probably don't control that since they are in a shared strip mall.

If you are covid apprehensive, this isn't the place for you. There is little room for effective social distancing in the lobby, but the staff seemed to be wearing masks. Just an FYI.

But otherwise, this place is great. Probably the best donuts in St....

Man I don't really know what has happened to your filled donuts. They have gone downhill in the last year. I used to love your jelly filled donuts. The filling used to be so much one bite and it would squeeze out the sides, now I'm left searching for the jelly into half the donut.... and got the same result with the custard filled chocolate topping donuts. I even waited to write this review till after a few more tries, and was left still feeling disappointed. The taste and freshness of the donuts are still awesome but the filling is skimpy as hell. Your specialty donuts are still good...apple fritter, pastries...awesome. Just fill the donuts like they used to be filled.

My husband and I got donuts from Old Town for our wedding and I could not be more pleased with the service they provided! They worked with us on pricing and when to pick them up so that they were fresh for our special day. When we arrived to pick them up, they were ready right on time and easy to transport! Their donuts are delicious and we even made a “donut cake” out of them! I am so thankful for their quality of service and their ability to go above and beyond!

After 35 yrs as a customer (Florissant and St Peters), I’m supposing this is proof there aren't many legacy businesses for a lack of maintaining the quality standards they inherited. Boston Cremes (Custard Filled) are anemic and all dough. 4” diameter donut, had a small 1” squirt of custard in the middle. The second one was overcooked and anemically thin even less custard in that one. Right, “Happy donut Day”…not in St Peters, it wasn’t.
