Based on the other posts it appears that if you shop in person at their store then the experience is quite positive, however, do yourself a favor and just don't buy online from these guys. Trust me, no matter how good the price is you're better off buying elsewhere online - Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced! I ordered a pair of Lucchese boots and received an email confirmation notice of the purchase, however, after three weeks of not getting a shipping notice I called, emailed and texted (because that's what their website suggested you do) and received no response at all. I finally got a live person who proceeded to tell me that the online portion of the business was handled by "someone else" but that she'd pass along my message. No response. Called again and finally spoke with Stan..."Oh yeah, those boots are on backorder and I expect them to ship by mid-March." Keep in mind I ordered the boots in late January and this was now mid-February. So much for letting the customer know what's going on. Well March came and went and no word from Cowboy Shop. It's now April and I'm attempting the same process all over again...email (now it bounced back), calls and texts...all unanswered! So now I go to the Lucchese website and see that the boot I ordered is back in stock, so there should be no reason why Cowboy Shop doesn't have it as well! I'm furious to say the least! I called Lucchese directly and explained the situation (they did have my info on file, so at least Stan passed along what he was in need of), but the customer service rep could definitely sense my frustration and she said they would ship the boots directly from their factory. Folks, let that sink in for a minute...I HAD TO CALL THE BOOT MANUFACTURER DIRECTLY to finally get a resolution!! Boots finally arrived in Texas and I'm happy with them, just not the buying experience at Cowboy...
Read moreThe background? For decades I have been in search of boots the fit my tugboat 9 EEE sized foot, with the high instep which always seemed to preclude wearing a quality western boot (at less than "Made $$$PECIALLY for you" pricing). Try and try again, at boot shops around the US. WY, TX, WV, MO, KS, OK... then I discovered Casey's. Because he would resole and reheel a pair of lug sole combat boots that were the only comfortable footwear I owned.
Casey is not just the proprietor and a salesman, he is (as fits a westerner) one who takes pride in having his name associated with a product. He didn't make them. He DID, however take the time to work through options, do an old-school measurement of the feet, and suggest two alternatives. He then ordered THREE alternatives, and said he wouldn't sell me footwear that didn't fit right.
The first pair fit PDG. The second one fit tremendously!!! I didn't realize until I got home and took them off that i went grocery shopping with the tags still on them...
He offers boots from a wide variety of manufacturers, and countries of origin. Many are Mexican or USA made, some others as well. Styles range from everyday kicks to dance boots. Worn to be Dressy or Messy. His selection runs the gamut, and prices range widely as well.
Stop and see Casey. If he can't fit you for boots, I dont think anyone...
Read moreOctober, 2021. For over 15 yrs I have been in search of a pair of boots that would fit my oddly shaped and sized extra wide foot. Hi instep, no arch, just a hot mess for footwear, not to mention a western style boot. I went to Casey to get repairs made on a pair of work boots, as he was the only nearby old school cobbler.
Walking into the store, you're immediately transported back 50 years to a REAL leather shop. The vast array of boots, hats, and leather goods displayed for sale, the friendly greeting from Casey, the smell that one only gets from leather footwear.
When I was done setting up the repair, I commented to Casey that there were some nice-looking boots there but I was pretty sure none would fit my feet because of the way they are shaped.
Casey spent over an hour, close to an hour and a half, working with me to try different sizes, different styles, different configurations. I ended up closing on a pair of Double H, made in the USA, boots we thought would fit my feet. Casey did not have the actual size in stock, so with a 50% down payment on the boots, he ordered in several different sizes too take into account possible variations. For the first time in my 60 or so years, I have a pair of western boots that fit my feet the way my hat fits my head.
I cannot more highly recommend a footwear professional than Casey at Casey's...
