Island Tans — Local services in Cranford

My tans have always turned out good here but there's always some kind of inconvenience. I recommend developing a text message system that lets your customers know what's going on ahead of time. In the past 2 months there's been 3 different issues, a water leak and the beds being over heated 2 different times leading to an hour wait. Not everyone lives close and someone like myself will drive after work during rush hour so imagine driving 40min to be told "Sorry there's a water leak come back in 1 hour" meanwhile there could have been a message sent out to customers just like other places do, for example "Hi everyone due to a water leak we will be closed for 3 hours and will reopen at 7pm" ...that would make sense.... Last month I waited behind 3 girls who were also checking in. The first girl was told something by the older women who works there but then she proceeded to talk to her friend at the desk instead of letting everyone else know what was going on. The girl behind me had to walk in and ask what was going on and was told "The beds are overheated, there's a wait". Would have been nice to know that instead of just being left at the door while she finished her personal conversation. The young girls who work there are very sweet and have always been helpful.

Responding to the owners comment back I am in the system because I've received texts in the past. During an emergency situation you don't have time to send out texts? If you have a water leak and have to close for the day that should be something to tell your customers about, businesses do it all the time. There seems to always be an excuse. The time's I've gone and you guys were closed without any notice, there were other girls outside complaining about the same issue.. but let me guess.. they're probably not in the system either right? You put little signs on the door which makes no sense. I have to basically drive there to find out you "closed early" or "closed...

I saw audio on Groupon that seem really good so I decided to try it out so far it’s been really good the staff is really friendly the beds are good places very clean but it’s only been my first few days and I was not pleased last night when I booked an appointment got a confirmation that my appointment was set and I rushed all the way from Piscataway to Cranford to get there and find out that the salon closes an hour earlier on Fridays I noticed there was a little sign on the door but there’s a lot of signs on the door so it’s hard to notice but I think that the hours on line and for booking appointments should be adjusted because I don’t know much about the salon or the hours and I haven’t gotten a text message confirming my appointment for that night and when I got there at 7:40 hoping they could take me a little earlier The salon was closed in general so I wasn’t really thrilled about that half hour drive just to find out the salon wasn’t even open so I just think that the online booking needs to be updated other than that everything else seems like it’s OK, my first tan I loved the bed, and then when I went in the next time to tan I was in a different room I’m not sure if it was a complementary upgrade or a mix up but I was never told that wasn’t going to be my typical bed because I thought that bed was absolutely amazing and I was all excited and then the next day I was in a whole different room and a different style bed . The product line is great the layout and design of the salon is cozy and beautiful I love the woodwork I love the energy and the staff is extremely friendly nicole is absolutely amazing I met her on my second experience and she Was fantastic and you can tell she knows a lot about the salon and the product line just based on the confidence in her voice . I have been coming here for years and don’t plan on stopping! It is always clean, affordable, & the staff is amazing! They are EXTREMELY knowledgeable and welcoming! I don’t have a favorite bed as they are all great! The owner keeps up on the updates of the bulbs and again it’s always clean! I have a very affordable monthly package and I love stopping by whenever I need some uvrays in my life. (Not to mention they always play great music!) I have also gotten some spray tans from here and have not been the slightest disappointed any of the times that I have received one. I have gone to other places in the past and there would be steaks or the color would come out funky; definitely not at island tans though! The staff is very well trained & professional so I have always felt confident the color I want will come out right and I also feel very comfortable as it can be awkward sometimes at other places getting a spray tan done. Parking is convenient, never had an issue.
