purchased a $300 booster box of pokemon cards from this store. cards turned out to be counterfeit (sharp jagged edges around the edges of the packs).
called the store and the "owner" started accosting me over the phone. said that if i knew the pokemon cards were fake why would i buy them(???????????????????????????????????????)
i don't have extensive pokemon card knowledge. i come to this store to buy pokemon products that i and anyone else would assume would be legitimate.
it is literally impossible to verify the sharp jagged edges on the packs as the product was sealed...
"owner" stated that there was nothing he could do for me. kept on comparing his card store to amazon. that if i had purchased something from amazon and opened it i would not be able to return it... (completely false. if you order a fake product on amazon they will gladly refund you)
i told him that i go to his store to spend my hard earned money on what i and everyone else assumes to be legitimate pokemon products. he continued to accost me as a liar.
he eventually calls me back to admit he had an employee check the other exact box of product that i purchased and it was indeed fake. owner would not agree to a refund and instead continued to repeat that he would "see what he could do for me"...
i charged back the transaction through my credit card company and the "owner" did not respond to my dispute which resulted in my refund.
that was my experience with the "owner". i had purchased hundreds of dollars of other pokemon product from an employee of the store who very kind & respectful. showed me how to correctly insert the cards into a sideway penny sleeve & even gave me a few packs of penny sleeves for free. had no problems until this interaction with the "owner"...

And -- Let's face it -- I know nothing about Pokemon. My son is 5.5 years old and just getting interested in Pokemon. He is collecting all the original cards. The owner helped us find what we were looking for and even made my son feel extra special. I love places like this and people like him who take their time to get to know their customers. This is how repeat customers are made. I feel so good knowing that I can stop in and ask what seems to me like silly questions, but he takes me seriously. He made our night. My son was so happy to have finally found a regular Bulbasaur card that he giggled all the way home and then ran into my house screaming to my husband about his new cards and how cool they are! Read moreFirst time visiting today, I was in the area for a Girl Scouts/ Girls' Aviation event at the local airport and decided to see if there was an LGS around. Indeed there was! While they were in the midst of running a pokemon event, the gentleman at the counter was still very helpful and took time to talk with me about best options for ordering cards. He advised me when MTG things went on, and I told him that I was from a different area and just stopping after the aviation event. He was so glad to hear that I was involved with Girl Scouts event, because he had done things with Boy Scouts himself, he gave me a free card and promo pack along with my purchase. THAT'S community.
