I had gone into the store to look for my elderly mother a pair of Brooks shoes. There were few selections and some random sizes. I made the mistake of taking one of the display shoes and the department manager started to shake her head from side-to-side saying I was not supposed to bother her display, and walked away in a huff. She proceeded to continue that she had her size and she would get it.
After being patronized - I’m 61 - I really was in no mood to buy anything from the store because I would be required to deal with her snarky attitude. Fine, it was a display, but to tell me in a respectful way, rather than a hateful one, would have made a big difference. Just because we live in a country where rudeness and hatred is the norm, I should not be treated in such a manner in a store.
To make matters worse, I am from another state so I will likely order something from Zappos....

Kaiya didn't just tell me where what I needed was, she took the time to walk us to each item and ensure it was the right size/fit. She asked my 4 year old for feedback on each and every item! Being an ex retail manager myself I thought this type of service was long gone with the young generation. A trip that I was dreading cause of stressing to find everything turned into a wonderful experience. Both me and my son were all smiles leaving the store!
