My cashier seemed racist ‼️Today Me and my mother in law had the worse experience and We normally shop there for groceries and I’m considering going to another foodtown or maybe joe v’s cause as soon as we checked out we had this caucasian old lady by the name Pamela and it all started when she asked another Cashier how much their redskin potatoes were and she didn’t know and the bagger asked me and my mother in law and my mother said they were like $1.20 and the cashier just disregard us and she was like no (my mother in law speaks very little English so I responded for her )she was off about .20 cents but any who so she scanned everything and the end she told us we had a remainder balance $2.99 and my mother in like was like how do I owe $2.99 if I’m paying in food stamps and I have over $100 in food stamps and the amount total to $95 and we didn’t buy nothing that wasn’t food stamps approved well she was like idk but you owe $2.99 and I was like you scanned everything and it was all food veggies can goods meat stuff like that and she just stands there like she doesn’t know what to do so she starts checking our bags because I keep telling her that the no way we should have a balance well the manager walks by and came cause she couldn’t figure it out and she was going through our bags and I explained to the manager and so apparently she had enter the wrong code and we were being charged we had no cash on us so I’m glad the manager made things right and I told her she need to be more nice to her customers and she like I was but the entire time she had a attitude and she seemed racist to be honest she also took the extra bags we had from our basket that we had from our veggies and was like oh we charge for these there not free would you like to purchase these I’ve never been charged in all the years I’ve been going there they always ask me if I would like to keep them and they put them in with other groceries and When I told her to be a lot nicer to her customer I told her in front of her manager and even then she was arguing with me that she was being nice which she wasn’t seemed like she hated her job or maybe she was tired idk but she was rude and I didn’t appreciate the customer service she gave and I wish she manager would of told her something I plan on calling and talking to a DM or a STORE MANAGER cause I just feel...
Read moreThey need to stock Silk High Protein Nutmilk, they have the other flavors except the most sought after. I went to go for the 30 count egg carton and there was a small cockroach inside of it. Few cashiers are distasteful, meaning management isn't operating on positive terms both business etiquette and personal evaluation. Food assortment is limited but can be useful if you don't have enough time to drive to a better store. This store in specific is the one on Huffmeister.
Update same managers and employees, inventory not updated, sales prices are still more than other stores such as H-E-B including a surprise... 10 lbs of chicken quarters with a large written sign of $3.39 turning out to be $6.69. Which is nearly twice what was advertised. I only bought one but the gentleman shopping near me bought 4 of them, I'm sure he's upset to learn it's twice the price for all 4 he bought. Still no stocking of Silk Protein Nutmilk but that is just a desire.
Update 1-3-19 @ 3:12pm CST: Still no Silk Protein Nutmilk, I buy 4 a week myself. Must go to a different store to accommodate needs. Again, just a desire but thought it would be stocked after my review. Bought an advertised "whole chicken legs" for $6.99 when large green sign advertised them at $3.99.
Hope the other issue was resolved, the entire store needs an overhaul but that's up to the owner, not the manager. One thing they do have, on the opposite end of the store, the produce section does sell decently priced avocados (medium size only that I saw, no large which are better in everyway) and 15 limes for $1.00 which is unbeatable. Also, $1.69 tall cans of flavored Natty 8% beer is not bad. Particularly compared to convenient stores, where they can be an...
Read moreMeh. They don’t have any health type foods like gluten free or other health needs a person might have. A lot of bulk stuff and specialty Mexican food items. It’s more or less your local Mexican grocery store with all the products they carry. They do have the occasional cheap find on candy or fruit that’s ready to expire. They just don’t have what the average American household needs in one store but I’m finding none of the stores in Cypress do. For cheap stuff I’d say Walmart. For more specialty items I’d say Randall’s and HEB, so I’m not sure where FoodTown falls in but maybe for those that want to really cut down the grocery bill a lot and don’t care the quality, brand, healthiness, and sometimes expiration date on the food item. I even overheard a gentlemen on the phone complaining that the canned items he was looking at were expired and how much that upset him. I personally don’t think the low price is worth feeding my family every brand that is full of chemicals and junk but if you loose your job and that’s the place you can maximize your buck then it’s a good temporary situation. I have a gluten allergy so I pretty much can’t shop there for anything and the produce was not good so I’ll skip it...
