As a Cypress local, I have never had any problems out of this location until tonight. I sat at the bar stool and was greeted by Laura with her arms folded, and a head nod. I spoke first saying hello, then she said ‘what you want?’ My puzzled and uncomfortable face must have spoken for itself, as Moses stepped up and greeted me with an apology on Laura’s behalf, and superior quality service. Jamalia also stepped up and showed leadership and hospitality as she cooked for 3-4 other customers present. Laura stayed in a corner with her arms folded with her baby blue iPhone in hand. Waiting for my food, Moses and Jamalia worked extremely hard as the night rush approached, however Laura stayed in her personal phone, and watched the company phone ring multiple times throughout my stay. I even noticed as non-white customers approached the register, she continued to display poor management and customer service skills because several customers left once she greeted them. Unfortunately, white customers who approached where greeted with ‘hi, welcome to Waffle House, what can i get started for you today?’ If it wasn’t for Jamalia and Moses’s leadership, conversation, sense of urgency and hospitality, I would have left. Other customers reacted and requested to speak to a manager after dealing with Laura before they left, but she claimed to be the manager on duty. I’m not sure if Laura has been a quality manager prior to tonight, but her behavior made 4-5 customers, including myself, uncomfortable and things could have escalated, however you guys have an amazing night chef named Jamalia and a brilliant host named Moses that tried their bests to keep the peace. Read moreI wanna go into the lawn drawn out story about service at waffle house because is expected to have a service. But initially I felt very confident that this waffle house will be different until I got my food and had a complaint about the order. Everything we ordered came out one at a time from the grits to the waffle and then we got the other part of our food which was the eggs and burnt hashbrowns with onions on the bottom because I forgot to put the onion in the hashbrowns and they forgot about the cheese. When we complain that it was not what we ordered, including the eggs that were half cooked in running when our order clearly said soft eggs with cheese. The manager came out in a gated everything that we said about our order he explained to us that when we order soft eggs that means runny we have no way for us to know that. Period. He then-cooked the food himself and decided to leave out all the extra things we added which was onions and cheeseOn our hashbrowns and cheese on our eggs he over cooked her eggs put our plate now and told us that you know that was our order we then decided to leave because there was no way we wanted to send this back a third time, for the sake of us and our attitudes and the company and the fact that we will be wasting their food. Read moreI came in after work on Saturday. It wasn’t packed. My order was wrong, which I mentioned 3 times. I also noticed a family that was there before me seated hasn’t received their food and their waiter didn’t seemed to care. The family was respectful but becoming impatient. The staff were too busy goofing off, cussing, and getting the orders for their friends that came in. Several customers were complaining about the wait time while their friends received their orders hot and ready before ALL the paying customers seated. My waitress was so loud and unprofessional it wasn’t even funny. She did comp most of my meal for it being wrong but she was a mess. I’ve been to this location before at night a few months ago and it was NOTHING like this. I had no idea it was this dirty during the day and the staff was trash. I couldn’t wait to leave… no tipping either. I wish I would… just because Waffle House has a bad reputation for the behaviors that go on in many of their locations doesn’t mean the staff should strive to keep up that ignorance.
