I went to this place 6464 E Northwest Highway Suite 309 on the date 01/18/2024 at 2:15pm to get my eye check up. From the first gate the receptions were not happy to see me. I arrived before my appointment time earlier than 45 minutes because I should pick my kids after. I told them and they were not willing to help me I saw there was no customers that made me wait but I waited for a while. My name called and the nurse that check my eyes before the doctor was really nice. She knew her job and treat me accordingly. When I entered to the doctor room it was fast he was also good and told me everything I needed though a little longer than I expected. However, when I got out in the exit the receptions still the same they start talking with their language and telling me things unexpected. Their job was just giving me my exit paperwork based on the doctor order but they were asking me the insurance card again and again. Finally, by the time I get my paperwork it was 3:56pm ,I said “Thank you for your good customer service.” I was reminded them to think about what they were doing to get me mad. But they knew that what they were doing and they said “You were Rude, too.” I appreciate myself, because I didn’t respond anything as they did, thank Lord! They were really surprised me with this position they are staying there they have to be accountable for American’s eye clinic. I was really sorry and Disappointed with this kind of hospitality. Both receptionists in the front desks were really unprofessional for that place. Besides that they didn’t show commitment for their business. Next day, I called them and told to the manager, she apologized for the situation. Anyway, in any case, instead of being nice for the customer, INSULTING a customer is I think the worst part to ruin once business. So, the picture I have for this eye center really changed and will never go there. I may go try the other branches. I gave two stars because of the Doctor and nurse were professional.

Flexible scheduling, and Maciel was super nice, helpful and great to talk with! Enjoyed visiting this optometrist! Angelo Papaspiros easy to talk to, detail oriented and friendly. Very informative! Gave some great information about lasik and other options also! He really cares and goes above and beyond. My fav place to get my eyes checked, I go here every year.

I am waiting now another 2-3 weeks to receive the THIRD redo of my glasses RX. They are high definition progressives, so I can't walk away from a $500 purchase as I would have with a $68-99 special.

I have made 9 trips (so far) to get these corrected. Last time, the "manager" tried to weasel out of responsibility claiming the equipment can't be calibrated correctly so it is calibrated at .25 off so my RX at +2.75 and the product at +2.50 really isn't wrong; however, if it will make me happy she will have them remade, again. Fuzzy math & science there as she couldn't explain how if the equipment can't be calibrated exactly it could be calibrated at exactly .25 off.

Also note that other parts of the lens were off by varying amounts and the other lens was more than .25 off. The PD was also short (55.2 instead of 66.1) forcing me to cross my eyes to match the focal point in the glasses. My old glasses, from 2017, are closer to the new RX than the glasses produced by AB for said new RX and the measurement of the old glasses with the equipment that is "calibrated to be .25 off" match their RX exactly not by -.25. (No explanation available for this discrepancy in her previous claim.)

Seriously, DO NOT PURCHASE ANY SPECIALTY LENSES from AB and think at least twice before you purchase single vision.

I "saved" $30 coming here originally over other local retail. I've lost work hours to trips back and to nausea and blurry vision making my savings a loss of well over $300 and I still don't have a pair of glasses that matches the RX I need. Plus I have had to deal with fuzzy logic management.

UPDATE 6/23/21: after the review above, Nancy at AB responded “our store leadership team … will be contacting you to day to help get this resolved.” I thought “to day” meant “today” but was wrong as no contact was made on that day. Then I thought “to day” was missing the “w” & “s” so I would be contacted in “two days”. Again, wrong, no contact, still waiting to see if the THIRD pair of lenses will be correct. Not holding my breath on correct RX or contact “to get this resolved” happening.

I have, however, received an automated email about how my trial contact lenses are going - come buy them if right, or come back for tweaking. Only problem here is I haven’t started using the trials, because they take 1-2 weeks to get in, so of course, I don’t...

Upon entering facility 2 hispanic female staff greeted me very friendly. Filled paperwork and took us to the waiting area. One of them did the initial testing on my daughter then said we had to wait again to see the doctor. The doctor called us in after 20 minutes of waiting and totally ignored we were there for a contact appt and was only doing exam for glasses. Towards the end she says you should have waited since she's up to date. I said yes she is and that is what I told you, I am wanting her in contacts, she interrups and says that is not going to happen its after 6pm and I don't do any contact fitting after 5:30pm. Asked why was I not informed I specifically made the appt for contacts and I took the appt at 5:50pm that was given to me, and still waited a long time before seeing doctor. She then said she would have to order contacts which takes 2 weeks and but honestly do not feel comfortable prescribing contacts to kids under 13. Told the doctor she will be turning 13 in 2 months, she stayed quiet and then said she should just wait till she's over 16 or an adult. Wth?! I was 14 when I had my contacts, my daughter is responsible enough to take care of contacts. At the end of the appt she daid go pick your glasses will be right back with you, again told her not doing glasses, we kept waiting for a while more went to look for her and "professional" doctor had left for the day. I spoke to the manager who was very nice said she was very sorry about our bad experienced, wasn't going to charge us if didnt take prescription which I didn't. Called our eye doctor and she said there is no problem with her prescribing contacts and assured my daughter would leave with a trial on and once everything was okay she will finalize prescription. I should've just waited till our eye doctor reopened and not been in such a hurry to get her in with someone else. Huge learning experience, will never go to this place ever again. So much for the positive advertising...
