Down to Play — Local services in Dallas

I was so excited about this place and still have hope, I just think some changes need to be made. The toddler area is indeed very small and I probably wouldn’t think it was worth the price, unless my child could also use the bigger kid area. As others have mentioned, the toddler area quickly gets overrun with bigger kids. Unfortunately, it seems like many caregivers don’t pay attention to the rules or to what their children are doing. In order for kids to have a positive experience at these kinds of places, the facility really needs to take initiative to enforce the rules- otherwise it’s just frustrating and potentially dangerous. Big kids need to stay out of the toddler area. If kids are acting like jerks, alert the caregiver and give them a warning. The sensory room is a great idea, but what’s the point if you have a bunch of unmonitored kids in there screaming. I did give some feedback to the owners after the first visit, mainly about the cleanliness. We were the first ones to arrive at opening so would expect things to be clean, but there were finger prints and shoe marks all over the structures, hair and dirt everywhere. They did seem very receptive to feedback, so will hopefully take all of the reviews to heart and make some changes. I do think this place has a lot of potential...

Our first time going to this place and I couldn’t give it a worst review. My husband and I took our 4 kids there. Our oldest didn’t play because she is 16 so she sat with us the entire time but our other 3 did play. Please note this is our first time ever going. My kids were playing in the little ball section of the place until a worker named Kimberly went over to them and told them it was the toddler section they needed to play on the other side. My kids are ages 8,7 and 6. So my kids went and played on the older kids section. About 10 minutes later we noticed some teenaged kids playing in the same exact area where my kids were told to move from. The teenaged kids were throwing the balls EVERYWHERE!! Some of the balls were even landing right where we were sitting. And nothing was ever said to them. The workers just sat and watched the teenaged kids and never told them they couldn’t play on the toddler section. I watched the teenagers play and throw the balls everywhere for about an hour or so before getting my kids and leaving. I felt treated very unfairly and I truly believe the workers pick and choose what kids to say something to. We will never go back to this place and I recommend to any Latino persons to not go there. The unpredictable weather has definitely pushed us to explore more indoor playgrounds, and our latest adventure took us to Down To Play, a place that came highly recommended by another family with toddlers. I'm so glad they introduced us to this gem!

This play center is brand new, impeccably maintained, and even with a few birthday parties happening on a Saturday morning, it felt spacious enough for all the children to enjoy themselves without feeling crowded. There’s a dedicated area for younger children under 3, complete with a large, soft ball pit—perfect for the little ones to play safely.

The main play area is designed for children up to 8 years old, and I have to admit, I had just as much fun as the kids! The space is packed with exciting activities, including a zipline, a crossing bridge, turnstiles, a banana boat swing, and some awesome slides. There is a sensory room if your little ones get over stimulated easily. I was running around alongside the children, joining in the fun and making the most of all the cool features.

It’s an ideal spot for a playdate, and they also offer food, making it convenient for a longer stay. Overall, Down To Play is a wonderful place for kids to burn off some energy in a safe and engaging environment. We’ll...
