I don't travel often, but when I do, I prefer to treat myself to some luxury. From the website, The Drey seemed to be all I could ever want in a boutique hotel and the location was one block from where I needed to be, so I booked it! Upon arrival I knew I was in for some setbacks. This is a list of issues, sorry it's so long. THERE IS NO OBVIOUS PARKING AT ALL!!! You can valet or use a hidden parking garage. Both options were comparably priced ($21/a day for garage or $30 a day for valet....I think those were the charges) but neither option had been mentioned in any of the descriptions of the property or the many emails or text messages I received prior to check in. The room..... it was pleasant enough, but there were issues. The walls are thin. You can and will hear everything going on in this busy little community. Dogs barking all night, music from the club or the pool, talking in the halls, etc... it isn't quiet or private. That was an adjustment. Lamp switches were broken, I had to unplug them to turn them off. The towels were thin, ratty, and stringy but there were plenty of towels in the room. There was no info in the room about the tv or room service or a directory or anything... I found that to be odd. No list of services or amenities. I had to google everything I wanted to know and even that lacked basic info. Finally, at breakfast, I was able to engage in conversation with the ONLY server there and she was most helpful. (I do not remember names, but she was awesome and had lived there most of her life). If this were motel 6, I wouldn't complain but this place is supposed to be held at a much higher standard. The A/C.. I like a cold room to sleep in. I adjusted the thermostat to 69 when I got there. Every time I left the room, the thermostat would be set at 78 or 75, or 76 when I would return.... That was super weird and made no sense. I figured it was due to a faulty thermostat or an energy efficient ghost. The pool and the property were taken over by young 20 somethings, barely dressed and rowdy. I'm not old by any means but I seriously felt like I was in an episode of the jersey shore or the real world. It was weird. I never even tried to go near the pool because it was so crowded. And with a heat index of 115, a day at the pool would have been amazing. Super disappointed about this. I could have been driven by the concierge to a pool somewhere else but that is super inconvenient. The Valet... The valet on the first day (7/13) went above and beyond. Super kind super warm super friendly and extremely helpful and understanding. He got off at 3pm and the next guy was ridiculous. (no name, bowl cut and braces) He never introduced himself, was oblivious, and had horrible customer skills. I wasn't completely sure he even worked there. I arrived back at the hotel after dinner at 9:50pm and he flippantly thanked me for getting there before he closed. (They close at 11 but he didn't feel like working). He acted so bothered every time I came for my car that I just retrieved my own car after he got the key cabinet unlocked... Extremely disappointed by that whole experience. Expected the same treatment as I received from the first attendant that had only been there for two weeks. Oh well... Housekeeping...This may just be me, but I found it weird for housekeeping to come in on the first day of the trip (while I wasn't there) and folded my dirty clothes and put them back in my suitcase. They also rummaged through my backpack and removed a sandwich I was keeping in there.... I may not know much, but that was just weird all the way around. In summary, if you are celebrating your 21st birthday and mommy and daddy are paying for it and you literally have zero standards of care or expectations, this is the place for you! If you expect to be treated like a welcomed guest at a luxury resort, go somewhere else. Also, the server, concierge, and first valet attendant were gems and all-around fantastic people. They deserve huge raises. Sorry for not remembering...

Arrived to one of the “condo” style rooms and our neighbors had about 20 people in their condo blasting the music and banging around inside the room. This place is where 20 something’s must pool their money to have a big party bc that is what was happening next door. The window blinds are only light filtering not light blocking so you’ll be awake all night and the huge gap between the light filtering shade allows all the street light to come streaming in. The “desk” where my husband had planned on working all week had no plug! When we called they offered a power strip?? Who designed this place? Got in the shower and for some reason the water smells bad? I’ve never had this experience before. Tried to order a pizza from their QR code. They charged us $60 for two small personal pizzas and cancelled the order without ever telling us! We waited and waited and then called to be told they just cancelled the order last night. Had to order from Instacart and the place is so hard to find in the “village” and the driver couldn’t speak English my husband had to run all the way to the hotel area to try and get our food. Thankfully the guy didn’t drive off and give up. This morning we stupidly took one more chance ordering off their breakfast menu only to discover 75% of the items were “out of stock”. We waited and waited and finally called and were told that order was cancelled also!! My husband was told they’d make it right away and sorry. They just called back 15 mins later and were told my oatmeal and croissant were also OUT OF STOCK. So we just cancelled with the guy on the phone and we still have another $60 charge on our credit card for food we never got. what in the hell is going on here? I’m starting to feel like I’m on some sort of comedy reality show at this place. We’ve been here less than 24 hours and all this in such a short period of time. My husband spoke to the manager on duty and expressed his displeasure with the level of service. She was gracious and accepted the feedback however no concessions were ordered for our multiple inconveniences. Do yourself a favor avoid the CONDO part of Drey Hotel at ALL COSTS. I can only speak for this area and I can assure you, it’s been a nightmare and I wish we could leave but we paid with thousands of points and it would be...
