Long review but if you want to know what it was like dealing with Lone Star Motors please read!
Short story: Amazing experience through and through
Long story: Iâm from out of state and found the listing for this truck on FB Marketplace. I got a prompt reply answering the few questions I had about the truck. I let them know I was out of state and that I was interested but obviously wanted to be 99% sure I would be buying if I was going to fly into Dallas for it. The owner was transparent and let me know it definitely had interest from a few potential buyers. I asked if he would hold it for me if I could prove I was going to fly out and he did. My work has its headquarters in Dallas so I actually got to go into the office the days I was there and he worked around my schedule and let me do a test drive after normal hours. Test drive went fantastic. I was 100% sold and ready to buy. He topped off every fluid and I drove out with a truck!
The next day I noticed that there was a few drips of something in the hotel parking spot I was at overnight. He checked in with me that morning and just asked me how it was driving and if I was ready for my long drive back to my home state. I told him it was great and I mentioned the drips and he immediately told me that I could come in before I left for them to look at it and make sure everything was good (although he absolutely had zero obligation to do so).
I came in at lunch (again working around my schedule) and they checked it out - NOTHING was wrong with the truck. There was a little bit of old oil and dressing that detailers spray on the engine covers to make them look glossy and clean that had accumulated on the frame of the truck. Makes sense since they had it detailed right before I came in!
They cleaned that off and after my 10+ hour drive home I can confirm the truck is in pristine condition!
Things I loved: Great communication Transparency Excellent and fair pricing Smooth and easy process Above and beyond...
Read moreon 2/16/22 i inquired about a vehicle i was interested in, I live in Arizona, so it would be a internet sale.
The guy over the phone was friendly, and sent me pics and video of the car.
I told him i was also interested in buying a car from california, it would either be the texas one or the cali one.
Come thursday 2/17/22 i got a text saying that other buyers were interested in car, and if i was gonna buy it, i said i am waiting to see the car in cali on saturday, so he told me i could hold car with a $500 deposit.
this was early morning arizona time, and i thought it was the cali dealer i also had spoken with on wednesday.
I MISTAKENLY THOUGHT SENT THEM A 500 DOLLAR HOLD DEPOSIT FOR CAR.
WHEN I FOUND OUT IT WAS THE TEXAS DEALER ,I TOLD THEM I MADE A MISTAKE, AND I REQUESTED MY 500 DOLLARS BACK.
THEY NEVER GAVE IT BACK TO ME, CLAIMING ITS THERE POLICY.
THERE WEBSITE DOES NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THAT.
THEY ALSO NEVER SENT ME A INVOICE OR STATEMENT OF ANYTHING REGARDING MY 500 DOLLARS!
THEY RIPPED ME OFF FOR 500 DOLLARS!
BEWARE...
Read moreDONâT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE! The condition they buy the cars is how they sell them to you. My car literally started to fall apart the day I drove it off their lot. Oil looked liked it was never changed. Looked pitch black. Engine bay was dirty. Another thing to note is they clear check engine codes before selling it to you. Check engine codes popped up the day after I bought it. They make their cars look all clean on the outside but everything else is either broken or needs replacing. Please donât buy a vehicle from this place unless you want to deal with the repairs. Theyâre cheap and do bare minimum to their cars. Plus the guy will ask you for a 500$ deposit to âtake it off the marketâ donât get scammed by that. I shouldâve known not to buy my car from this place just based off the location. It looks so ghetto around the place. Once again donât buy anything from this place. Itâs...
