The San Francisco peninsula is home to one of the largest Filipino communities in the country and therefore, there is no shortage of their cuisine in the area. Now, staying open and being successful is another story.
Goldilocks is a reliable Filipino restaurant, a franchise operation with fairly loose compliance standards in uniformity, which means its restaurants vary in looks and operation.
This one is on Mission Street in Daly City, a smart looking place that serves up a selection of hot food, ready-to-eat in the Turo-turo style. It's a method so common with Filipino joints that literally translates to point-point as you go along the line in cafeteria fashion.
For about eight plus years that I've been going to this restaurant, I seen the same staff work there. That must mean that the owner(s) treat their employees well, or that they're family members. LOL. Seriously, I think they are well treated.
Their food is consistently good, although spendy and I feel nickel & dimed, but then again, no one is forcing me to go there. Their offerings are comprehensive, from their pastries and bakery items, their frozen ready-to-eat packages, to ample seating, clean facility with a parking lot in an easy access part of town.
So, they have a lot going for them and I give them props for being such a great resource for the Filipino...
