Edit to add that the owner is not telling the truth if they are now claiming that they don't serve haram alongside halal food.
Original review: Since Google keeps shadowing my review from last year, here it is again. Edit on 22/12/23: Google is suppressing this review that I made four months ago.
Review: The owners of this restaurant do not understand what it means to advertise your restaurant as halal. Halal is not just offering meat that has halal certification. It means ensuring that the entire offering of food complies with halal standards, which is why real halal restaurants display the certification. The owner of this restaurant admits that they serve haram alongside halal.
It would be like telling a vegetarian that your restaurant is vegetarian when you also serve meat, and prepare the vegetarian meals in the same kitchen as you prepare the meat meals. No matter how careful you are, you will always have the risk of some level of cross contamination.
If they were honest they would say that they offer halal meat, for those who sort of observe halal rules by eating halal meat, but for those of us who actually are halal observant it is simply not possible to know for sure whether the haram foods have cross contaminated the dishes cooked with halal meat.

UPDATE to respond to owner's response: They basically admit that they are cross contaminating halal with non-halal food. You simply can't prepare halal food in a kitchen the also prepares pork and other haram items. To tell me that I should have asked the chef AFTER I ate the dish with pork in it is insane.
Additional update: The county health inspectors have confirmed what I wrote about the problem with cross contamination between halal meat and haram items:

Read moreI had potstickers, honey walnut chicken, Singapore chow fun, and Wor wanton soup. The soup was the only outlier in only being fantastic (ordinary ingredients, but it had the bok choy) rather than some of the best cooked American style Chinese food I’ve had in quite some time.
The potstickers were perfectly crisped outside chewy dough and ideal pork filling.
The chicken was juicy inside the light batter and sauce. I’m seen this dish as lifeless meat covered in heavy batter cooked in bitter oil dressed in way too much sauce so often at other places that seeing it done perfectly here made me realize what I’ve been missing all this time.
The Singapore chow fun had just enough spice without being overpowering along with divinely chewy fat noodles that soaked in all the curry.
No chopsticks by default, just a fork and cloth napkin and square plate at each place, but my compliments to the cooks here. They take bog standard food using bog standard ingredients that I’ve tried elsewhere a bazillion times to that next level I keep...
