Yersen Gelato Cakes — Restaurant in Danville

Ordered a custom cake for my husband's birthday. Was really hyped about this place since I had eaten an ice cream cake from this place at a friend's and really loved it. Wanted to share that experience w my husband who had missed the friend's baby shower due to unavoidable circumstances. Went ahead and plugged in the same flavours that my friends had: Cake Flavors: Chocolate Truffle,Madagascar Vanilla. Attaching order details screenshot. What I received was such a disappointment. a) there was no 'cake' in the ice cream cake. I don't understand how there can be no cake in an 'ice cream cake'. And if there is not supposed to be cake shouldn't this be called out when people are trying to place an order, or calling in multiple times to check if we could get an ice cream cake! b) There was hardly any chocolate either, even after chocolate truffle being the first flavour selection from my end. It was just a big blob of frozen vanilla ice cream. When I called in to have a discussion around this I was told 'all flavours are 50-50 unless specified." "And since you had mentioned it was for your husband's birthday, we did not add any cream and did the best we can." No where did I mention - do not add cream, I just wanted the best cake possible. And the chocolate was not definitely not 50%, hardly 10% I would say. Attaching pics. Even after giving the owner a chance to correct by calling in the next open day and requesting a remake they refused. Definitely not ordering ice cream cakes...

This is probably one of the best tasting Gelatos I've ever had, anywhere. We always stop by Yersen's when we're in the area. You can tell that the owner is very passionate about his Gelatos, always encouraging us to try the flavours and explaining them to us. All the flavours taste natural, fresh, and are made with real fruits. None of that artificial stuff. Our favourite flavours are the peach, and the toasted almond coconut during the summertime.

Just right! Gelato is definitely one of the more difficult things to perfect, I've noticed. These guys have taken on that challenge and won! They have a great range of flavors and each flavor is real and fresh tasting (you can tell they use real ingredients to get the flavors... Not artificial flavors). The consistency and texture is perfect, exactly what you want in your Gelato. It's impossible for me to come here without getting 3 scoops, I have a hard enough time narrowing it down for that lol.
