Danville Farmers' Market — Local services in Danville

The farmers market is one of the better locations to get unique items, baked treats, and other goodies, and groceries in Danville, VA. The hands down best aspect is getting to interact with and learn about what you are buying directly from the maker/farmer. The vendors seem to be somewhat consistent on a weekly basis meaning you can get more of something you liked, or have a second chance to grab something you may not get every trip. If arriving after 10:00AM, meat and vegetable selection will be limited as they sell fast.

Fresh produce, greens, meat and cheeses are readily available and as fresh as you can get. Pickles and homemade bbq sauce looked great this morning.

The baked breads and sweets are delicious and offer a better assortment than what is readily available at bakeries throughout town midweek. I opted for Baklava and lemon bars today.

Arts and crafts are always present but slightly more so during the holiday markets which feature wreathes, and many other Holiday season decor and items. Today’s choice was unique...

Right in the heart of downtown. Most Saturdays, there are lots of vendors to choose from. Everything from artwork, crafts, soaps and plants to baked goods, wine, fresh ground coffee and of course local produce plus eggs and meats. Most vendors accept credit/debit cards, but there's an ATM on site for the ones that don't. Handicap accessible too. It's open air, as most Farmers markets are, so do not expect A/C. There's a decent amount of parking as well.

I always stock up, load it all in my trunk, then hit the adjacent Riverwalk trail...

This is my happy place. Fresh vegetables and fruits in summer. And the best local honey. Baked goods along with fresh eggs!

And the best kept secret in Danville is the local artisans. We have so many. I purchase alot of handmade jewelry there. No two are the same. Every year I look forward to the holiday shows. Crafters comes from all around to sell...
