I have been with this gym for the last 7-8 years and have no issues until recently. I came in person to cancel my membership on 6/21/25. I was told they no longer allow in person cancellation I asked for all information on how to properly cancel and was given a reference number from my account to sign up on the app to cancel online. I followed all the proper steps and was met with multiple error messages and an email that stated the online cancel feature was down to go to my home gym (Dayton) and cancel in person. I came in person and showed them all the error messages and that it was not allowing me to cancel and at this time even the front desk workers could figure out how to cancel because the option to cancel online was completely gone. They told me they had no idea what to do because they couldn’t cancel in person. They then instructed me to email all screenshots from the failed online attempts and emails to their work email and told me the manager would be in the next day to look at it. Fast forward the following week I gave them time because I assume they’re busy. I haven’t heard from them via email or phone. I call and the manager has no idea what I’m talking about because no one ever spoke to her. I explain and she tells me to re send the email because she never received it. I resend the email and get a call back 3 days later asking if I’m absolutely sure I want to cancel my membership. I told her yes that I’ve been trying to cancel since June 21 I wanted to cancel. I was told because there was an online system error that Regional was the only people that could cancel I would be receiving an email in 1-2 days from the Regional manager with confirmation of my cancellation. I waited 2 WEEKS!! Call today and my account is still active and they cannot cancel until Regional decides to do so! The manager was extremely rude and hateful and when I asked if I could have Regionals or Cooperates email or phone I was told I was not allowed to be given anyone over hers information and was not allowed to speak to anyone over her. I asked how this was supposed to get resolved and I was told it will happen when they have time. I refuse to let them continue to drain my bank account with the yearly fee and then another month fee coming up in August and will be blocking my bank from them to take out money. I’m being given the run around, they’re refusing to cancel my membership even though I gave the proper 39 day notice and paid the July fees as requested. Workout anytime is a scam and does whatever they can to keep draining money from their customers. They’re great up until the moment you need to cancel then you’re a nuisance, they’re won’t return calls or emails and won’t let you cancel and try to keep charging fees after the membership was supposed to be cancelled. The staffs attitudes change the second you mention you need to cancel. This is poor business!! I’ve also recently spoken to over 10 people that have had the same issues once they tried to cancel some even being harassed after cancelling with the gym trying to still force old customers to continue to pay. They’re great should be ashamed of themselves! The staffs attitudes change also refused to give me their names so I could contact cooperate and have this handled properly...
Read moreThe good: Very clean facility, staff is always wiping the equipment or cleaning the floor. Immaculate bathrooms & locker rooms. Friendly staff, however deceptive management (see below) I initially very much liked this gym, and appreciated the availability of 5 & 10 lb weights as well as an area to the side for core mat work. The bad: Machines are in need of consistent servicing. They stick and are rickety to operate. The really bad: Watch out! We pay through our insurance company but did a temporary $10 upgrade to premium. Upon signing up, the female manager said nothing about a $49.99 additional annual charge. She was great about explaining all the other perks, but omitted this important fact. Unfortunately this was in the contract my husband signed (he missed that fine print, that's on us) and the gym was unable/unwilling to credit us back even though we've been trying to cancel the premium portion of the membership for several weeks now. (They make you go in person to sign, and we have been out of the area on business trips.) I was told the regional office does not let them offer a credit for the annual fee, and was not I given any additional steps to take with the regional office. This experience has soured us for this location and all Workout Anytime locations. Upfront communication could have prevented all of this mess, and losing 2 members...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I enjoyed this gym. The only reason I can’t give if 4-5 stars is because they do not do deals where two people can be on the same account and go together for a good price. Me and my girlfriend both had to pay the same monthly fee each. That’s honestly a rip off when you can go to another gym and we both work out together for pretty close to the same price of one member a month. If Workout Anytime would change this I’d love to return because the convenience of the location due to me living in Dayton and my girlfriend lives close to Athens it would allow us both to take advantage of this...
