Do NOT under any circumstances participate in the One Daytona Art Festival. I was an artist this past weekend and it was a colossal waste of time, effort & money. I drove five hours one way from Key Largo, blew 2 tanks of gas, 2 nights in a hotel, $35 application fee and almost $250 to participate in what was advertised as a juried fine art festival. It was more like a flea market with a sprinkling of actual artists there. This is nothing more than a money grab. This is NOT a fine juried art fair. One neighbor sold fake designer hand bags. Way too many others sold mass produced costume jewelry and home goods. We did however have a vendor 2 booths over SCREAMING at the top of their lungs WATER, WATER, WATER!!! Asking staff to tell them to staff was pointless. They refused to speak with them. I told them to stop screaming at everyone that walked by as what few customers there were ran to get away from them. The refused. The art fair manager did as well. They ignored her, too. This went on for hours. EVERY artist I spoke to said they would never do this art fair again. My neighbor said he's done this art fair every year and it's always bad. He said the only reason he does it, is because he lives in the area. The demographic was not a fine art festival attendee. I did not see one person walk by me with bags or a painting. The judges were rude and dismissive. Didn't introduce themselves. Just came in. Didn't say hello. Just scowled at me. There were only two judges so it's really pointless. This art fair was such a waste of time, I left at 2P on the first day. It took me 3 hours to load up as I had to haul everything back in my cart. I emailed the art fair manager after and never received a reply. I wrote an review on the event page only for them to immediately turn off reviews and block me. Seriously?!?! That screams volumes to your lack of...
Read moreThe Christmas experience at Daytona One was awful. When they say open 4-7, what they mean is, if you are not in line by 5pm, donât come at all. The worker, Carly and her âmanagerâ Deana were rude, argumentative, hostile, and unprofessional. Carly herself was clearly just trying to leave. She told us the line to see the Grinch was 2 hours long so we wouldnât get in by 7pm close (it was 6:20pm at the time). This didnât initially make sense so I asked why itâs advertised until 7? She immediately became argumentative to a simple question. Ultimately my family and I stepped away as it was clearly a confrontational situation in front of our 3 small children. My husband and I are both professionals and know immediately when weâre faced with an employee who clearly just wants to be somewhere else. Doesnât care about her job, the company or the customer. At this point Carly continues to banter as weâre walking away. At this point my husband asked her to stop. She then became more aggressive. We asked her and for her manager which she initially refused. Finally, a nice fellow approached, apologized and gave Carlys name. We then asked to speak with the manager. After 10 minutes or so and in a different area the manager approached a friend of ours very aggressively asking what her problem was. We informed her that she was asking the wrong person. We then attempted to explain the situation. We were within the first few seconds interrupted and told we were at fault. At this point my husband stopped the conversation as it was clear we were not speaking to a manager but a friend of Carlys. All in all among the worst customer service experiences weâve ever had. However, it is fair to mention that our dinner at Rock Bottom...
Read moreThe plaza advertises that they are pet friendly but I have had nothing but bad experiences when enjoying the plaza with both my personal pets and service animal. My most recent, a security guard confronting myself and a few friends over our dogs being in front of the hotel. We were there working on training drills, chatting, and enjoying the beautiful weather. Security followed us, rudely told one of us to get the dog off the turf seating area (to which we did not know pets were not allowed on, and politely complied), and then proceeded to tell us we could not work with our dogs near the hotel. (To be clear, we were using a public walk way not even close to the hotelâs front door). This guardâs main concern⌠children. He kept stating he was worried children would come up to our dogs? Our dogs, who were relaxed, under control at our sides sitting or laying down, and not causing any attention. Multiple of which are SERVICE ANIMALS and service animals in training. Which I clearly stated, and the guard spoke over me. He told us to go some place else. So we walked over by bass pro shop and finished our work. Iâm extremely disappointed in the lack of care for equality. We were singled out for having dogs, not heard when explaining these animals were service animals and service animals in training, and strong armed into leaving the area. These security guards act as police but speak on subjects they are uneducated on. 1 Daytona do better! Me and my group will not be...
