PLEASE BEWARE!!! During my recent visit to NJ Diamonds on April,11 2024 with the intention of purchasing gold jewelry, my experience turned out to be far less than satisfactory and regrettably disappointing. I dealt directly with one of the ownerâs daughters and purchased a Van Cleef ring and a Cartier ring, which were sold to me at what I later discovered to be exorbitant prices. Upon leaving NJ Diamonds, I felt uneasy about the transaction. Driven by this instinct, I decided to do a comparative price check at several other stores I purchased from that same day. I learned that the selling price for gold that day ranged between $74 to $77 per gram, yet I had been charged over $100 per gram at NJ Diamonds. Even with the standard commission of $4 to $7 per gram included at other stores, the price I paid was still significantly higher. Additionally, I considered selling some unworn jewelry and was initially offered $2,000 by the same daughter at NJ Diamonds. Feeling skeptical, I sought quotes elsewhere and received offers of $2,140 and $2,180, confirming my suspicion that NJ Diamondsâ offer was unreasonably low. When I returned to NJ Diamonds to confront her, the responses I received were vague, with prices âstarting at $85 and up a gram,â without clear justification for the higher rates. Furthermore, the gold was not even weighed in my presence before prices were quotedâa basic and essential practice in jewelry selling. Despite claiming to offer a "discount," it became evident that this was nothing more than a deceitful ploy to justify overcharging customers. My experience at NJ Diamonds serves as a cautionary tale for prospective customers. The unethical practices and blatant overpricing exhibited by this establishment are reprehensible. As a former patron, I can no longer in good conscience recommend NJ Diamonds to anyone seeking to purchase or sell gold. Only God knows how much in the past my husband has been scammed seeing as this was his go to spot. Alhamdullah we found two nearby stores that are honest God-fearing people who give honest selling and buying prices. Overall, I am deeply troubled by this experience, which felt manipulative and dishonest. I urge potential customers to be very cautious and perhaps seek multiple quotations before committing to a purchase or sale at NJ Diamonds. Trust is essential in transactions involving valuable goods like jewelry, and unfortunately, my trust was compromised during my visit to NJ Diamonds. I acknowledge my own responsibility in blindly trusting the daughter's word and failing to verify market prices and weights before making a purchase. However, this does not excuse NJ Diamonds' deceitful conduct. May this review serve as a warning to others, and may justice prevail in holding establishments like NJ Diamonds accountable for their actions. She failed to acknowledge or take accountability, nor did she offer to refund the hundreds of dollars she overcharged. May God take whatâs mine from here in this world and the...
Read moreWish I listened to all the people who told me not to waste my time here. My fiancĂ© and I walked in and explained to the lady that I was looking for a gold wedding band. I stated my ring size and the lady immediately shut me down. She showed me only three rings and said that was all she had for my size. She then asked if I liked salt a lot and said that my fingers are too big because I eat too much salt. Nonetheless, I actually found one that I liked and asked her of the weight and cost. She then continued to ask what it was for, who was paying for it, etc. gave me a price and then kept badgering me about what I thought. Asked what time they closed because I didnât want to make any quick decisions and although it was only 4:33, she said they closed in 10 mins, probably hoping I would settle for the ring. Grabbed my fiancĂ© and told him letâs go. Definitely will not return...
