Floataway Community — Local services in Decatur

A wonderful way to spend a Friday night.

A Groupon deal my sister-in-law turned me onto encouraged us to drive over to Floataway Cafe; it had been years since we dined there and again we were not disappointed. This incredible deal included - one appetizer, two entrees , two glasses of wine, and a desert to share -all off the menu.

We chose to start with the blue crab fritter as an appetizer; it was outstanding. The fritter was bursting with fresh, tasty, moist crabmeat with a light, crispy coating and it was served with apricot mostarda; delicious. We would come back for that!

We then chose the Lamb shank and the Grilled Pork Chop for entrees- The lamb was so tender and my pork chop was cooked to perfection and served with a fresh corn, peppers and tomato medley. Seanna paired my wine to this entree and it was spot on. For dessert one of the servers encouraged us to try the moist warm toffee cake. OMG it was just the right touch to end of the meal but we went all out and also ordered the peach crostarda as I was craving that peach taste. Both worth every calorie.

Ask for Seanna. She was personable, so kind and always there for us at the right time. She was not obtrusive and was always helpful. The environment is attractive and cozy. We had a lovely view of a garden and the nature path right outside our table. It was raining hard so listening to the rainfall made every aspect of this dining experience perfect.
