Great selection but customer service has really sunk to a new low! I have a disability and sometimes it’s more obvious than others if I limp more or carry too many plastic bags on one arm or both. Sometimes I am fast getting through store sometimes very slow and lean on cart more than the average shopper. Years ago 2014 to 2016 to be exact, they were more than helpful when checking out etc., but these days I feel like a criminal being searched once when I was with my husband and 4 year old. I get the security and understand measures that need to be taken in the retail world. I purchased a usb do hickey and it was clearly paid for evidenced by the receipt but the clerk failed to remove security device ( again I know this will occasionally happen and usually one shows proof of purchase and the store gladly removes tag and you ho on with life). This time We were all forced in front of store to remove all items from pockets (my husband had only his wallet and keys, my four year old no pockets and I had no pockets either only wearing cotton sundress, I did empty my entire purse which was slightly embarrassing cuz it was a mess). I was in excruciating pain and had to lean against cart and then the entire process took way too long since we had a receipt from having just made purchase in nearby lane minutes prior. They made us repurchase it then go to customer service ( would not let my daughter and I head to the car as my husband requested.) it was ridiculous . Read moreEDIT(11/4/2024): K here we go. Dropped rating down from a 4 to a 2. Why are so many things NOT in the SYSTEM? Why is this so hard? When you put an item on the shelf that means someone could buy it, no? Then why is it that various flavors of Atkins protein shakes are not in the system? Or what about protein powder, chai tea bags with black tea or vanilla? Chai tea from various brands available for purchase but when checking out they doesn't scan and can't be sold. Same problem with a set of seasonal fall oven mitts. WTF if going on at this store? Stuff like this is why people stop going to certain businesses because what's the point if you have to travel to another store to buy what you need because Meijer isn't putting items into inventory...
(08/18/2024): Love this store, always clean most of the workers are friendly and there's a wide plethora of items to buy here. The reason I deducted 1 star is because I'm consistently running into the issue of trying to buy something here and having that item not be in the system when I go to scan it which means Meijer can't sell it. If this was happening once in a blue moon I would just huff and let it go, but this is happening every 8 weeks or so? I also understand that no grocery store can be perfect all the time so I get that things happen. I've never had a complaint until last week when one of those sales guys was by the shelves trying to gather people for a free gift and then sell you on a cleaning product. I decided to go see what it was about since I have three kids and can always use cleaning products. The sales guy was extremely rude to everyone and telling us to put out carts off to the side and I moved mine over out of the way but stood next to it with my kids. I was completely out of the way. That apparently wasn't good enough and he stopped what he was doing and looked at me and told me to "cut the umbiumbil cord and come closer and leave my cart." I could hear and see him just fine where I was and didn't want to leave my purse and all my things or kids so I kept standing where I was. He again got upset and singled me out several more times to move closer in a rude tone and attitude ... Even other customers were noticing . I decided to just walk away. Other customers did as well . I went up to management to complain. Something i have never done. After i talked to the manager I was standing at the redbox and heard the manager talking to another employee making fun of me and the situation. They did not know I could hear them. Completely...
