Bought a $899 jasper recliner. Got 30% off during presidents day sale. It has a indentation on right arm rest and makes a creaking sound when you sit down on it or rock on it. Instead of then saying "bring it back in and we'll take care of it (literally week old) I had to set up a service appointment. Chair is very comfy darn. The whole reason I bought new and not used (cheap) was because of my experience of rocker recliners either squeaking or creaking during any movement. Should have asked me to bring back in. I understand it was on clearance but almost $700 after 30% off I'd expect to have it replaced with same model same price, especially since I made it known I was coming back to buy more things (area rug, that $99 picture, end tables and lamps. I see nothing but issues down the road with this chair regardless of service techs. I can see then right now coming out and just spraying lubricant on it. What about the indentation on right arm? Will change review if they read this and decide to just replace it. They'll earn my business back and gain respect plus a few grand more on home furnishings. Ps, I really do like that deer picture my sales person was trying to sell me. The ball is in there court. How much do you want my repeat business? This is no jab at my sales women. Very nice lady
Edit: 6 months later, after spending $700 on this chair the fabric is falling apart. I live by myself and have no animals. After my original review they sent out a service tech to fix the “squeaking” noise this chair was making within the first month or so of ownership. They tightened up some screws and it seemed to fix the issue but the “squeaking” is back along with the fabric fraying. I don’t sit much in this chair other than nights I’m having difficulty sleeping due to back pain. I’d expect a recliner that retailed for $999 to last much longer than the 6 months I’ve owned it. I really don’t think it would matter much at all if they came out and replaced the whole recliner with the exact same one. This is why I wanted them to let me switch it out for a different one (even if I had to pay extra for it). I’ll be lucky if this recliner last me a full year. I’m very disappointed as I thought recliners from lazy boy were the best in the business. Unless lazy boy is willing to make things right by coming and picking this thing up and replacing it with a different one i just don’t see why I would be a returning customer. Read morePurchased two leather chairs that are defective. The seat and back cushions are so over stuffed they push you out of the chair, Very uncomfortable. The seat is over stuffed to the point it is almost round and raises you up so much that my feet are well off the ground, The leather on one chair is not laid correctly and has a large fold. The cushion on the arms of the chair does not go all the way to the end of the arm and causes it to collapse making a divot on each chair and arm. I called the company and they sent a technician to the house. The tech said he could not repair the chairs, He said he has seen this same chair at a different house in Cincinnati with the same issues before and was unable to repair. La-Z-Boy main office has called me back today and said they will not replace or refund the chairs. They have agreed to repair the arms. However, it will not address the other larger issues with the chairs. In addition, the tech said he would have to completely take the chair apart in order to repair the arm. I am not sure what I would be left with then. I have gone to the store and sat in the model chair a few times. It does not look or feel like the chairs delivered. The cushions are appropriate, the leather smooth and my feet touch the ground.
I highly advise you research La-Z-Boy before you consider purchasing. Now I see all the complaints and negative reviews filed against them. FYI-my review of the chair was not posted on the La-z-boy website. Now I am left with either accepting these expensive and useless chairs or pursuing further action against them.
Update: This is the response from the company to my BBB complaint: "The customer’s unit is functioning as designed. As stated in our previous response, with use, the cushions on the customer’s unit will compress. We expect at least an inch of compression within the first year of normal use." So, apparently I have to wait a year for the cushions to "compress." How is the chair not functional at first use. Why must I wait I wait a year!!!! And a inch would...

It is now March 2022 and every week we call to check the status of our order… we are told something different.
We have been told two more weeks, four more weeks, we don’t know, we ran out of fabric, it’s ready to be shipped and now are being told they have lost a piece of our sectional.
Every time I have called the customer service reps have been respectful, helpful and kind aside from today. Today was the WORST experience I have ever had!
The first time I called the guy that answered threw me on hold before I even had a chance to speak, then when he came back he told me he needed to do research and would call me back in 20 min. Then 2 hours went by with no call, so I called him back… lucky me, the same guy answered. Didn’t great me when he picked up the phone, he just rudely blurted out what’s your phone number? He then wouldn’t let me speak… and proceeded to tell me that my order is lost and it would be at least another 2-3 weeks before a new piece could be located?? WHAT!!
I tried to ask a question and he then cut me off. I then said please don’t interrupt me and he raised his voice to me and accused me of interrupting him. I asked for a manager and he claimed to be the manager??? Seriously?! At this point I was so frustrated I just hung up. I feel like I have been lied to and stolen from.
Considering we have already paid for this furniture and have been waiting for 8 months, have been lied to and now disrespected. I would NOT go to this store for furniture!!! Worst customer service experience I have ever received in my entire life!
