A Life-Changing Experience at Delray Medical Center This morning, my mom underwent an MRI-Guided Focused Ultrasound Ablation at Delray Medical Center to treat her lifelong essential tremors — and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Every single person we encountered treated her with kindness, dignity, and true compassion.
Kim Irurzun, Special Diagnostics Clinical Manager, was like an angel. She guided my mom every step of the way, offering emotional and physical support with such sweetness and care. From gently shaving her hair to standing by her, offering guidance and explanation in Spanish, Kim helped my mom feel seen and supported through it all.
Valerie Giglio, RN with Patient Care Services, was incredibly attentive and supportive. She cared for my mom with such compassion and made sure I was kept informed throughout — a steady, comforting presence during an emotional time.
Philip, RN from Trauma Resus, also helped her and occasionally translated into Spanish for my mom, ensuring she felt safe, understood, and included in every part of her care.
Ana Uribe, Assistant Nurse Manager with Surgical Services, was professional, gentle, and so kind during post-procedure care. Her thoughtful approach helped my mom feel calm and well cared for. The fact that she speaks Spanish made such a big difference for mom!
Arica Halila, RN with Interventional Radiology, was incredibly empathetic and warm. Her gentle and sincere presence brought us real comfort, and she made sure we felt supported every moment she was with us. She was also very patient with us and explained instructions clearly, which is invaluable when one is under stress.
Julia, a joyful and skilled nurse (we only caught that she’s from Canada), was an absolute gem. Her positive, radiant energy lit up the room. She placed my mom’s IV on the first try — no small feat considering her delicate veins and thin skin — and did so with care, confidence, and grace.
Omar Quintana stayed by my mom’s side throughout the entire procedure. His calming presence, constant reassurance, and ability to keep her informed made a world of difference. His compassion helped turn a daunting experience into something she could walk through with strength and peace.
Last but certainly not least, Dr. Lloyd Zucker, who performed the procedure, was absolutely outstanding. His calm, warm, and personable demeanor immediately put us at ease. You can tell he truly cares about his patients — not just clinically, but as human beings. His presence, skill, and kindness made all the difference.
And now, the most incredible part: the results. My mom’s left hand no longer has tremors — something she has lived with for over 50 years. Just a few minutes ago, after returning home from the hospital, she casually refilled her water bottle using that hand to hold it — something she hasn’t been able to do in decades. That moment said it all.
We are overflowing with gratitude for the entire team at Delray Medical Center. You gave her more than medical care — you gave her confidence, relief, dignity, and the gift of possibility. We will never forget it. You changed our...
Read moreWhat a great experience I had at the Delray Medical Center starting with coming in the door. Christine met me. She’s did all the writing up and was explaining everything that was going on. We wanted to put me into one of the surgical center. There was a Susanna. she explained that she was with Dr. Chung‘s team and did an unbelievable explanation about everybody that was going to be in the room and working with me and so it started with The anesthesiologist came in. He explained to me what they were going to be doing and one of the big things that he did was, he said that they have a second anesthesiologist in case something goes wrong with him which really makes you feel great. It continued with the they had a they was a nerve doctor that came in. I don’t know his technical title on what he’s does, but he explained how they were gonna be putting pens in Me and he was going to be telling Dr. Chung where the problems were and locating these things and fixing it After that we Susanna explained to me that Noah was going to be the person in the room looking over everything and he was gonna be the director on getting things taken care of and Seth was also gonna be there. Unfortunately they gave me the anesthetic and before I got into the room I just kinda like saw him, but I didn’t see him and And then I came out of it and it was just a great experience. I feel so good the pains that I had had disappeared I have mild back pain but nothing to write home about. It’s really very easy. I said I love the procedure. I love everyone that’s been handling me. I have never met a nurse who combines clinical excellence with genuine humanity the way Nurse Paola does. From the moment she walked into my room, it was clear this wasn’t just a job to her—it was a calling.
Bed Care & Rest: She anticipated every need for comfort—repositioning pillows with precision, adjusting the bed to ease pressure points, tucking blankets just right so I could finally rest without pain or discomfort. She made sleep possible in a place where it usually isn’t.
Clean & Professional: Her workspace, my IV site, the bedside tray—everything was pristine. In a place where infection risk is real, her meticulous standards gave me total peace of mind. Kind & Funny: She turned a terrifying night into one filled with laughter. Whether it was her perfectly timed dad-worthy one-liners or the way she celebrated my tiny victories (like finally keeping Jell-O down), she made me feel human again.
Hands down, the best nurse on this floor—maybe in the entire hospital. If every patient had a Nurse Paola, “hospital stay” would stop being a phrase people dread. Thank you for setting the bar impossibly high.
In addition, I also had the pleasure of being cared for by Registered Nurse Tony in Room 4333 at Delray Medical Center, and I can’t speak highly enough of his exceptional care. Tony was incredibly attentive, always checking in to ensure I was comfortable and addressing my needs promptly with genuine compassion. His ability to explain medical information clearly and patiently was remarkable—he took the time to break down complex details in a way that was easy to understand, answering all my questions without ever making me feel rushed. Tony’s calm demeanor and dedication made a stressful hospital stay feel much more manageable. He truly went above and beyond, and his care made a significant difference in my experience. I’m so grateful for his professionalism...
