Shiitake Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Delray Beach

Over the past year, it has been so sad to see this establishment go down hill. My wife and I used to get food from here twice per week. After getting food poisoning from their sushi, we didn’t order again for a couple months to take a break. We finally went back in for dinner. They seem to be having staffing issues every time we visit to dine in and are short handed. Due to the poor service we stopped dinning in and switched to takeout only. With our takeout, either they forget orders completely or the fish and chicken are very dry and overcooked. Last week they forgot my wife’s dinner in the bag and when I called, they blamed me instead of trying to fix it. They said I never ordered her dinner… I said of course I did, my wife and I were going to eat together at home. They then blamed me for not checking the bag. Just last night we we were around the corner and decided to grab a quick dinner inside. They were half full. We were with my 3 year old. No one working the front, we sat on the bench for 15 minutes until they sat us at the same empty table we were staring at for 15 minutes… They never brought my coke I ordered. They didn’t give us our kids cup of water I asked for until the food came, so my son sat there with nothing to drink. My salmon came drenched with a gallon of sauce and was very fishy and not fresh. When the server came, I had said that I cannot eat the fish and explained what was wrong with it. She took the fish back and when they brought the check, she said for us to not come back. I couldn’t believe my ears. We were once regulars that came twice weekly, now just once in a while. They soiled the experience in every way and now want to take their personal problems out on loyal customers? They have become so bitter, it really is sad to see. We cannot support this type of behavior. They just don’t care about their regular local customers. It is really very sad to watch them go down hill and they really don’t...

Went to Shiitake Asian Bistro on Linton & Military tucked away in a plaza last night with mom! I was so pleasantly surprised by this little Thai/Japanese gem! Our waitress Sau was very welcoming and attentive and told us they are a family run restaurant only 4 months old and recent transplants from Boston! I ordered the Southern Duck & Noodle in which Sau suggested I get some chili sauce to accompany it to add some heat...perfect recommendation. The dish itself had super crispy duck, yellow noodles, bok choy, garlic, peanuts, scallions, cilantro and has a light soy and slight Tu sweet sauce that balanced with the duck to perfection. I’m pretty sure I inhaled the dish before mom got in 3 bites of her Pineapple Fried Rice with Grilled chicken which she also thoroughly enjoyed! Their rice and noodle section of the menu allows you to choose from 6-8 protein options, they have a substantial sushi selection, & appealing appetizers but it’s the “Chef Recommended” portion of the menu where the most creative and flavor pact dishes are.
