It's really hard to write this fairly, as the food, the atmosphere, the service is mostly above the norm. I was happy to find a place wirh quality food and a Bew York style Jewish Deli in Florida that can make you feel like your back in Long Island if only for a hour or less. The prices can be high. But the breakfast special is a super value at $4.00. And the food is worth paying a bit more. However the one thing that disturbs me is how judgemental some employees can be. And lets just say I don't dress as such just to do my errands. But I was politely informed that it best I don't bother filling out an application for cashier/hostess because I wouldn't be hired anyway. When I asked for an application and informed the front lady that it wasn't for a friend it was for me.As she had asked me if it was for a friend. Oddly I think she sincerely did that to spare my feelings and so I wouldn't waste my time. I have just as many dressy pants suits and blouses w/skirts and dresses to look just as well as the women dress who work the register and seat the floor. Also I can do Algebra in my head while the women they hired couldn't even count back change of $20 on a $17.65 check. Not to mention years of fine dining and breakfast exp. It's ok you don't have to hire me. But your staff esp the older blonde lady ignoring my complaint regarding being scolded like a child for taking a cream cheese out of the basket my bagel was served in. I could only eat half and was bringing it with me. But that's the property of the store. Your not allowed to take that with you. I wasnt taking condements. I was taking a portioned in a little solo container cream cheese that legally they are not supposed to re use those.. Jelly , butter, sugar, sweet and low are all factory sealed and they can be reused. However cream cheese is a health risk so it comes with the bagel anyhow. I was taking it to finish and my friend who was neatly dressed could HEAR them talking about us. Wanting us to leave so she could not feel uncomfortable. Im not homeless but I use public transit. I got rich friebds and poor friends and this man was a gentleman. Clean not in anyway could you tell. And I tip 3 to 4 bucks when its me and a friend or aquantance. I left $1 and a note on why her tip was so low. I know homesless borher some. But if clean and polite. And on target with money why are they looked down when no one asking for ANYTHING but the shallow people hurt this place. I have many poor friends that don't deserve to be treated any different. And O never heard of not being allowed to take home the cream cheese for your bagel. These people some are very shallow. I have Louis Vitton purses. INC and Co. And other Macy's popular brand clothes. MK shoes and Victoria Secret for perfume and such. But I don't wear designer clothes for walking around doing errands or seeing my therapist at The Mental Health center close to them. Of course if I was going to work I 'd be dressed proper. But I could never be high and mighty likethat they might want all to think of them off. My point is you will get a great breakfast here but how your treated is based on how upscale in looks not morals you appear to be. Im a regular customer. Not one for years. But often enough that I had the potential to be a source of profit for years to come. The way we were treated today they be lucky if they even see me till after winter. Maybe when season ends they would act a...
Read moreFirst off you should know this is a hole in the wall bagel place. That is not a bad thing but a good one because the food and service will surprise you. It is in the middle of a medical complex which is a weird place to find a bagel restaurant. When you walk in you can see the take out counter with all the fresh bagels and spreads. There is counter booth and table seating. The place definitely looks dingy and dated with deli signs decorating the wall. The restaurant has been around for many years and it shows. This place caters to the single diner to families. On weekend mornings it is not surprising to see the whole family in there for breakfast. It is not very noisy so talking to your companions is not an issue. The menu is pretty extensive. They have a large selection of breakfast and lunch items including the usual staples such as pancakes, omelettes and french toast. They have deli sandwiches and of course various bagel sandwiches. The bagels are made onsite and are very fresh and tasty. My favorite items are the egg dishes and for lunch they have a great brisket sandwich on toasted rye bread. I think you will find something to eat for everyone including vegetarian (not vegan). If your bring your young kids then you are fine because they even service chocolate milk for the kids and the kids in all of us. This is not a gourmet place but the food quality is very good and the portions are average. Depending how busy it is the kitchen is scary fast at how quickly they can get the food out to you. The prices are extremely reasonable with breakfast averaging around $10. They even have specials for breakfast that are a great deal for good food. For me, where this place really shines is the service at least in my experience. I have been coming here for years so I am quite the regular but I have seen customers walk in who do not frequent the restaurant and I am amazed at how the staff is. Even on the busiest days they are very attentive. I highly recommend a server named Paul. If you become a regular, this man somehow can remember your usual order which I find incredible for the amount of regulars that come to see him. He is very friendly and gets to know his customers on a more personal level. I walk in and we talk and I don't even have to order. He just says "the usual" and I know I will get what I want. If you are looking for an inexpensive place for breakfast or lunch whether dining alone or taking the grandkids out then this...
Read moreAbsolutely DISGUSTING!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Bagel Twins is hands-down the dirtiest, most disrespectful, and poorly run establishment I’ve ever had the misfortune of stepping into. We were nothing but polite and respectful customers who’ve been here before and ALWAYS leave a tip, but some loud, overweight, aggressive Mexican man (who claimed to be the owner) decided to start screaming at us in front of the entire restaurant, because we hadn’t tipped yet. Mind you, we had literally walked over to the bagel counter to grab cash to leave a tip — but apparently that wasn’t fast enough for this man’s inflated ego. He told us we weren’t welcome there anymore. For what? For planning to tip in cash like we always do? Unhinged behavior.
And that was just the beginning. The place is a full-blown health hazard. The second you walk in, you're hit with the overwhelming stench of rotting fish and mildew — it’s gag-worthy. The floors are sticky and stained, the tables are crusted with old food, and the chairs look like they haven't been cleaned since 2003.
The coffee mugs had visible lipstick stains, the plates were greasy and scratched, and the utensils felt sticky and poorly washed. The entire vibe is dirty, unhygienic, and just gross.
My omelet tasted SPOILED!! like they used old eggs and moldy cheese. It had a foul aftertaste that literally made me stop eating after two bites. My friend’s dish had a small BUG crawling across the plate. When we brought it up to staff? They shrugged it off like it was totally normal. Unbelievable.
And then there's the bathroom situation. Pure horror show. The smell was unbearable, there was urine on the seats, toilet paper everywhere, and no soap in the dispensers. In the middle of a restaurant serving food?? That alone is reason for this place to be shut down. It’s a breeding ground for bacteria, and clearly, no one working there cares.
Everything about Bagel Twins is a disgrace — from the attitude to the filth to the spoiled food and unclean environment. This is NOT a safe place to eat. I’m honestly concerned for anyone who still chooses to dine here. Avoid it at all costs. The Department of Health needs to come in immediately.
1 star is too generous. This...
