I was at Burlington today shopping for my children. My children get their allowances on a debit card that I can add or remove funds from at any given time. When my total was final, I went onto the app to transfer the funds, and I could not get a signal. So I stepped outside really quick to see if I could get a better signal. I got it done, came back in and paid. When we got into the car, my children told me that the lady said "haha she must be out of money". She said this in front of my kids to the other 2 employees that were there, a young woman wearing a hijab and a young woman with a white shirt and braids. I went back in and the woman was not at the service area anymore. I asked her employees about this. They said they don't know why she said that. It was not their fault. They were both polite, kind and helpful. But her name was Crystal and they said she was the manager. She attempted to degrade me and humiliated my children. She had no right to do that to me or anyone else. Completely unprofessional. If this is the kind of management you keep around, I will not be back and I have been coming to this store for years. My purse costs more than her entire outfit and her Freak Nik style 1990s hairstyle. How dare she try to insinuate that someone else doesn't have money because of a quick internet issue. I expect discrimination from some, but definitely not another black woman. Very...
Read moreHighly disappointed in this store! Was in town from Battle Creek and wanted to check out the new Burlington store in Lansing MI. What a mess. A literal mess! The children's shoe section had nothing orderly about it. On to the fitting rooms, the back set was closed and the front set (there are 2) only one was open and 7 people in line to try things on. Staff said the other side wasn't operable today. As I was pursing the juniors section items that were size small, had large size on the hanger. Everything was like that. I over heard staff complaining they couldn't keep the store clean and it was guest who destroyed it. I beg to differ. You can't fit more than one, maybe two guest in an isle way at any given time. The coat section was so tight you couldn't fit a cart thru it. I am deeply saddened by the condition of this store. I absolutely LOVE Burlington. Burlington in Lansing, please please contact cooperate to revamp that congested floor plan to ensure the functionality of the store serves all guest ( as it's one of the busiest stores...

While I understand staffing may be an issue, creating an express line for individuals making purchases of 5 items or less would allow your team to work smarter and keep the lines down and reduce the frustration of customers taking it out on your employees.
When all your cashiers move with 0 urgency and are slower than the DMV, an express lane of sorts would help move people with a few items instead of waiting for your cashiers to finish up with people who have carts full of stuff.
However, the store has a lot of general merchandise thatâs fairly priced for being similar to tjmaxx who sells overstock merchandise or last years styles/models. Would I say they are bargains? Some of it is and you canât beat the prices, however a lot of stuff I can find cheaper elsewhere by stacking coupons and sale prices from...
