Yesterday was the worst experience I ever had in tjmax. Usually this location has friendly cashiers, but what happened was unbelievable. So I approached this cashier for check out I and my cousin, the cashier then gave a grimace to her coworker next to her and my cousin saw it but didn’t react , then we had two luggage’s, she proceed to open the luggage and check it like tsa and keeps asking did you check it if there is something inside, I was like no, who the hell opens the zippers inside a luggage to check it, we were tested like thieves and did ask the same questions again for the second luggage, usually the cashiers checks inside purses and luggage inside normal which I understand, but to have the audacity to ask me again and again if I have checked the inside of it like I’m smuggling drugs, no and no I deserve respect as I come to spend my money not to be treated like a criminal. I chose not to say anything by cause I was tired, I gave her the benefit of doubt not to call her racist because that’s the only explanation I can give it of what happened. The store was named after Theodore Joseph Maximilian a businessman turned fashion mogul of Des Moines, Iowa during the great depression. Theodore had a drugstore that also would specialize in woman's fashion of the time. Theo decided that he wanted more than bloomers and brassiers and decided to turn the entire drugstore to a chic fashion empire specializing in a unique and trendy french style. T.j changed the store over the years adding housewares and other sundries that would be more in line with his fashion philosophies, settling on what we have here now folks. Some associates are rude and have no clue of what their doing. I had one item to try on and I needed my friend to unzip me out the dress I had on when I walked in the store and the elder lady that works there said “you can’t go in there to help. sit out here”. Which I thought was quite rude. So I ended up not trying on the item of clothing. I did put a dress on hold though because I was going to return back before they closed. I took the dress up to the counter asking the gentleman to hold it, he said they can only hold it until close which was fine because I was coming back in a hour or so. When I did come back, an hour later, to pick up my hold they lost it and said the guy never put it on hold. He put the dress back on the floor.
