H&H is bar none the most honest jewelry business in the mid Michigan area. Let me tell you why: I have taken jewelry to H & H in the past and recently I noticed my wedding ring was damaged. The prongs holding the solitaire were extremely bent. I haven’t worn it in probably eight months because I didn’t want to lose the diamond. I had some errands to do and decided to take the ring and have it looked at since I was in the area of a local competitor. I just wanted an estimate from anyone at the time so I could save money back to have it fixed. This competitor quoted me for $800 to put a new head for the diamond and new prongs for the baguettes. He also stated most people have the heads changed on their diamonds after so many years so the prongs don’t grow weak, kind of like getting an oil change in a car. I was shocked at the price, and never in my life. have I heard of anyone switching out a setting like and he insisted on having done. I asked him how long this estimate was good for and he got rude and said for a couple of days I guess. Yesterday, I finally had the time to go back to H&H. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. I was ready to have the ring completely remounted based off of the last estimate I got. The staff reassured me that there was nothing wrong with the setting. The prongs were bent a little, however, it did not need major replacement as I was told. The prongs got bent back to shape and it is literally brand new again. They also told me with a six prong setting there was no chance of the diamond falling out. I asked what I owed and they said absolutely nothing and I was shocked, humbled, and mad at myself for going someplace else just to get it looked at. I will never do that again and they will always have my business. Period! I’m a forever grateful and humble customer that is happy that this business looks out for all of their customers!! If I could give more than 5 stars, believe me it...
Read moreI recently went to H&H Jewelry to create an engagement ring for my Fiancé. I had the pleasure of working with Ximena, she was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help me get what I wanted. Ximena made the whole process very simple for me and in 3 simple meetings I was done and out the door. Meeting #1 with Ximena was to discuss the logistics and budgets of the ring. Meeting #2 Ximena called me in to take a look at 3 different diamonds that would work within my parameters and budget. In this meeting I selected which diamond I wanted on the ring, and Ximena was a great help when it came down to selecting which diamond best worked for me. This can be stressful as there are so many different elements that come into play, Ximena had the knowledge to know where we needed to be in order to create the most perfect engagement ring. Ximena also helped me visualizing what the ring would look like with each diamond (she held it over a 2MM band so I could have an idea). Meeting #3 was to go see the final product and take the ring home. Needless to say my fiancé fell in love with the ring and was stunned at how beautiful it came out. I would like to give a big THANK YOU to Ximena & H for taking care of me and treating me like family. I highly recommend working with H&H Jewelry and ask for Ximena she will not...
Read moreAfter my father died a few years ago, my step mother wanted to turn the diamond wedding set he gave her into more of a family heirloom that represented the joining of her family and his (which includes 7 grown children who have all surrounded her with love and comfort in her time of loss). I asked her if I could introduce her to my dear friend who was a jewelry designer. She traveled the 2 hours to Grand Ledge and we went to see Ron together. After spending some time sharing her ideas with Ron and his talented and compassionate staff (it was a very emotional experience as you can imagine), Ron suggested a beautiful design that she fell in love with. (Something she never would have picked on her own!)
Less than a week later she came back into town and tried on her brand new family ring which included the original large center diamond my dad gave her with 7 other smaller diamonds surrounding it. She couldn't speak...actually none of us could. Except the designer. Ron simply put his arm around my step mom, gave her a compassionate squeeze and said, "My pleasure."
Thank you Ron for what you did for a hurting widow who is now comforted every time she looks at her hand. I will never be able...
