I can say that never at any one point in my life would I have thought about joining a gym. But now I'm pushing my way later 50s and had a health scare along with my wife that made us re-evaluate our lifestyle at the end of last year. We had become fairly rotund from being sedentary during the pandemic.
So the research began. Buy a rowing machine or a stationary bike or elliptical.. endless reviews.. sky high prices. Endless waste of time. I knew we'd buy it and it would become a dust gatherer. So I proposed a gym membership to my wife. That way we would be forced to go out having paid for the use of something.
We needed a local place that wasn't gimmicky where we could go and not be judged and wasn't going to cost a fortune. This Nautilus has options if you wish to pay for them to go to other locations. Everything is explained about package options up front by a very cool welcoming staff. Which I had read about in the reviews. We came by for a tour given by Jess and we advised we'd like a day to think on it. She was good with that.
This location is very clean and stresses as a rule to clean after you use equipment. It showed. We came back and joined the next day purchasing a middle of the road package which suited our needs.
We've been going now for 3 months. Now 4 days a week up from the original 3 we started with.. adding time to our workouts, more reps or new machines. I have to admit I feel better as does my wife but much more work is needed. Never knew I needed a gym so much in my life. It's also good to have goals again. haha.
Hope and Jess always welcome you with a smile and greeting and are there if you have questions. We have spoken to Jimmy the owner as well, super kind and always has a moment for you. Machines are well kept and...
Read moreI was legit going to give a 5 star review - because I absolutely do love this gym. Love the layout, equipment, everything. HOWEVER, I get moved across Denison, so now I live around the corner of the Denison Nautilus. I try to go in and tan BEFORE I workout and I was denied because I'm not at the "home location" of where I signed up. Ummmm okay? Was never told this. So now Nautilus expects me to drive 20 minutes south for me to tan. Yeah, okay. To a consumer, wasting gas and tire tread and everything else for 7 minutes of tanning is completely asinine. Especially when I pay a membership...do...
Read moreI went up there to get signed up, I was greeted by a young man who said he just started working there. I Informed him what I was there for, so he stepped into the office and let someone know I was there to ask questions and get signed up. He told me it would be a minute, so I patiently waited. He seemed impatient stepping back and forth from the office door looking in... So I decided to step to the side and see what was taking so long. Two women were in the back room doing their hair! While I stand there...
