Distillery Liquors — Local services in Denver

This liquor store is easily the best in the area. The family that runs it is so friendly and efficient - you can tell that they take pride in keeping the store clean and welcoming. They have a great selection of products (particularly wine!) And the service is top -notch. I've waited in line only once - and as soon as I joined the queue behind the one person already being helped, an older gentleman saw me and immediately walked over to the other register and gestured for me to come up. They are hyper vigilant in their customer service, and during and after COVID they're one of the few stores that I've continually felt safe revisiting (lots of distancing, plastic panes separating registers, etc.) I have nothing but good things to say...

Bought a $20 bottle of wine from here on my way home. The wine was corked (was missing 1/4 when I took it in to return) so I tried to return it. When I tried to return it the owner pointed to a sign that sad "no returns". Didn't see it the first time, but I assumed that a bad bottle of wine could be returned to the distributer/salesman and not cost the owner any money. The manager was having none of it. I tried to tell him that if I can't trust their products and I couldn't return bad products that I would no longer shop there. He didn't care. The store doesn't have a great selection to begin with, but if you buy something (beer or wine) that could be bad for some reason don't expect to be able to return it. All around...

(Un) fortunately, I will no longer be a customer because I'm quitting drinking (again). However, the folks here at Distillery have never been short of phenomenal. Every time I went in, they took their time to get to know me. I will always go out of my way to support local businesses no matter what. Especially foreign people, as usual, I'm sure it wasn't easy to leave your homeland & your family and come run a tiny business (mom n pop shop) in the US for a chance at a better life. Even though I can no longer be a regular customer, I might roll thru for a RedBull once in a while... Thank you (everyone at Distillery) for serving us the right...
