Open Arms Assisted Living — Local services in Denver

Toured this recently. Brand new facility that costs much less than others but provides much nicer rooms and care for lower fees. It is wonderful to see a facility in an underserved area that wants to serve minorities and those who are not just rich. It is great that you don’t feel cut off from the local communities especially the african american and hispanic communities because they have their church services and events on Sundays just down the hall from the rooms. It very much feels like you are still part of a real community not just forgotten.

Meals are great, the staff are very friendly and the telehealth connection in every room makes seeing the doctor super easy. I am sure the resident vegetable and flower gardens and apple and pear trees will be great to harvest and cook. This is a real treat for the resident gardeners and cooks who would orherwise be missing their own gardens and kitchens.

The rooms are light, clean, cosy. Common areas feel spacious but homey. I like that it is small enough to be able to get to know people and make new friends and you’re not just a number. Overall very...

HORRIBLE do not send anyone here! they stole 6k from my sister, broke into her room (and you could only get in by calling management, so CLEARLY management is the one who stole it), stole the title to her car out of her safe, and two firearms went missing she had a license to own. Staff was AWFUL and unhelpful. They don't have cameras or surveillance of any kind and they actively mistreat, lie to, steal from dying patients. My sister was largely ignored. They didn't give her her medication, didn't help her get anywhere she needed to go, and she would've been still alive by Christmas if we had found anywhere else to care for her. She had necrosis in her feet which the staff SHOULD have caught and never told us anything! Don't send your loved ones here unless you want...

I would love to be one of the 1st to leave a review. I first visited this community care center mid October, hoping to transition my sister there. Unfortunately she wasn't quite ready due to too many falls at her currenty assisted living facility. So we chose to delay with hopes of her getting better for a safe transition after the beginning of the year. I'm excited to give this community such a high rating, because I know they will go above and beyond their God given call to provide the best of care to their residents. It's new, clean, a very much a home setting. My hope is that it doesn't fill up before I get my sistet there. I've already recommended several people to consider Open Arms Assisted Living.
