El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Denver

Was there today 11/15 for opening day. Everyone was very nice and polite. Was given a menu to look over before ordering and handed it to another person in line because the mgr handing them out walked back inside. After eating my meal and heading out, I asked for another menu to take with me since I had given mine to someone so they could look at it and I was told by 2 people handing them out I couldn't have one. I had to download the app. And the menus are for customers only. I laughed and said well what am I? I just spent almost 50.00 so am I not a customer? Then was told again I need to download the app. Well maybe I shouldn't have handed mine for someone else to look at was my first thought after hearing them say that. I don't feel like giving me 1 would affect their revenue but it did affect me going back to this location again. And to add to this post, the rice and beans have no flavor. The pico has too many tomatoes and not enough onions and cilantro. These are items I tried at home. While dining inside I had a keto burrito which was ok. Much smaller then a regular burrito they sell there but I suppose it's because it's keto? I thought I would have leftovers to bring home for myself. UPDATE AS OF 11/11/2023 Chris, the new manager, has improved the entire experience! The food tasted so much better, the service was excellent, the cleanliness was obvious, our order was accurate and we were served FAST... On a Saturday night!

We are huge El Pollo Loco fans as my grandma lived in San Diego my whole life. We are so excited to have one here!

The line situation here is extremely confusing, no one knows where to stand to order, wait, etc. It's very "fend for yourself". Also, the cashiers never understand my order and always have to get a manage to help.

Very often what we receive is wrong and we need it fixed, so be sure to check your to go order carefully.

But it's always fresh, hot and delicious!

This place just opened up recently, and we decided to try it. And oh my gosh, it was one of the tastiest quesadillas I’ve had in my life.

…Unfortunately, it made me the worst food poisoning I’ve had in my life. We are currently on day three of desperately trying to keep any food down.

“How do you know it was this that caused it.” It’s the only thing it could have been. The other food I’d had that day had been shared with other people, who haven’t gotten sick.

And look, I hate writing bad reviews — I know this place is probably being run by people who are underpaid and trying their best. But three days of food poisoning is absolutely ridiculous.

If the people running this place see this review, please make sure your meat is being properly cooked. Please make sure there is no expired product. I don’t want anyone to go though the hell I’m in.
