The location was within a mile of where I needed to be for work. There's a bunch of fast food in the same parking lot (chipotle, popeyes, taco bell, taco food truck, etc.). But I feel like if I was not working in that vicinity there would have been a better location. However, whether just regular procedure in this area or because of COVID, they were all shut to dining when I arrived that night and you had to drive through to get anything. I didn't have a car, so I ended up just going to the gas station instead. I wish the hotel food service went a little later so I could have ordered from them.
Front desk was quick and helpful at both check in and when I checked out early to run away from a blizzard.
Everything in the room worked, but the lamp outlet was poorly designed. I have a block charger that directly plugs into the wall and it wouldn't plug into the lamp outlet because there was not enough clearance. Had to move the night stand out to get to the actual outlet.
Things seemed clean though the carpet made the room feel a bit dated. Wifi ran but not well. I ended up just switching back to 4g through my phone for the night that I was there.
I didn't get to try the breakfast because I had to leave before they started (left around 5:45 and I think they start at 6:30). Would have been nice if they'd at least put a couple of the not-hot items out for me to pick up and run with before the actual breakfast started.
Shower worked fine. Everything you expect to be in a hotel room was in the hotel room - including a fridge.
And this isn't the hotel staff's fault, but the guy above me woke up at 5am - dare to guess how I know? Yes, I did hear him "walking" around above me. Holiday Inn (and every other hotel out there) could infinitely improve people's comfort by spending a little more money on sound insulation between rooms.
There were only two elevators located in one bank for the hotel and they were slow.
I would stay here again for sure but there's still room for...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer for over 9 years. I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn in excess of 50 nights since 2014. I have always been very happy with the service and accommodations.
However, this particular Holiday Inn Express was very disappointing. We called when still 100 miles away to ask for an early check in. We were told that a room would be ready within 30 minutes. We informed them that it would be about 1 1/2 hours before we could get there. They said that was fine, the room would be ready. When we arrived, there was confusion at the desk. They wanted to know if we really wanted 2 queen beds for sleeping or just "spreading out". We assured them we wanted them for sleeping, and that was what we had reserved. It took them about 15 minutes to find us a room! Once in the room, we found that the beds were ancient, being some kind of metal box spring that was noisy enough to wake you up when you rolled over or someone got out of bed. Also the fan in the wall heater/AC was extremely noisy sounding like a noisy and angry paper shredder, with a kind of cycling up and down noise factor involved. When we went to bed, we found the beds were the hardest we have tried to sleep on in 20 years. One of the items we have appreciated about HIE is that they consistently have some of the most comfortable beds for any hotel chain we have used, So the hard and noisy beds were a real turn off. Just so you understand, we have stayed at HIE in over 20 states in the US.
When we went to breakfast, it was a disaster. I tried to have some cereal, but they did not have any milk. I then tried to have the hot dishes, but they did not have any plates. We muddled through best we could, but it was VERY DISAPPOINTING. This is the WORST Holiday Inn Express we have ever stayed at, and I can not recommend...
Read moreMy daughter and I were in Denver for a basketball tournament. We found this hotel as it was between downtown and the airport. When we arrived we had a 1 bedroom suite. The room was huge. Nice living area and a king size bed in the other room. It was one of the biggest rooms I have had at a Holiday Inn Express. Too bad we didn’t get to enjoy it. ||Our issue came in the first night. At 2 am I started hearing water dripping. I went into the bathroom to check and water was pouring from the ceiling into the bathroom. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. 10 minutes later security showed up and said he would look into it. It ends up that the person above us fell asleep with the water on in the tub. Now it has been around 20 minutes in the middle of the night. I called back to the front desk asking for a new room. I was told they were sold out and that they couldn’t help me. We couldn’t stay where we were. I was told to wait and she would get back to me. Finally 15 minutes later someone came up and they moved us to another room as someone didn’t show up. Good thing since I don’t know what we would have done without a room. This room was OK but not as nice and not what we paid for. Finally back to sleep. ||The next morning I went to speak to the front desk about the issue and to see what they would do for us due to the issue. The person working was not very helpful and said they could give us some IHG points. This was not acceptable. I asked for a manger and was told she was on maternity leave. I asked for someone that could help me. She said someone would be in later in the day. Finally I found someone to help. She said she couldn’t guarantee but she gave me her number and told me she would call me when she resolved the issue. Finally we were taken care of. ...
