I bought a Groupon for 10 units of Botox, that was $85, back in July or August. The only reason I purchased the deal was because a good friend of mine had Botox injections there and her experience was good. I've been getting Botox for about four years now. I told the injector that 20 units was my max and that I did not want to be frozen, and I showed her where I wanted to see results. The injector used 10 more units, saying this was the minimum suggested for the forehead. The next day my forehead hurt, the injection sites were sore and I my forehead felt swollen. This was something that I had never experienced before. A couple of days later both of my eyebrows were peaking so intensely, my forehead had broken out so badly in a rash and I was still sore at the injection sites. I called to let them know and they said that an injector would not "touch me for two weeks after a treatment". For two weeks I had to walk around with a rash and looking like a freak until they would fix it. I was told by the receptionist that peaking was normal (never happened to me before) and that I would have to pay for the extra units they would have to inject to remedy my situation.

When I went in for my second appointment, the injector confirmed that I was peaking and that I did in fact have a rash. Her thoughts were that the first injector had used latex gloves (which I'm allergic and it's on my chart) and that must be why I had the rash, redness and itchiness. She couldn't explain to me why I had so much pain at the injection sites. She, again, explained that it was normal to peak and it was an easy fix, but that I would have to pay for the extra units she would have to inject to fix the problem that, in my opinion, was the first injectors fault. It seems obvious to me that she used way too much and that she didn't know what she was doing. In total, I ended up paying $205 for 22 units of Botox! Which is the most I've ever paid in the past with horrendous results.

Fast forward to today ( 2.5 months), I am still peaking and have frozen wrinkles above my eyebrows. My forehead is still broken out, sore and itches. I will never get Botox again! My hunch is that they are probably using generic Botox (thus the allergic reaction), and that they over-inject so that people will have to come back and pay more money to have the problem fixed.
