Absolutely outstanding experience at Jos. A. Bank in Denville, NJ, and I can’t recommend this location highly enough—especially if you're getting ready for a big event like your wedding.
I stopped in for my official wedding fitting this past weekend, and from the moment my fiancée, my father, her father, and I walked through the doors, we were warmly welcomed like family. We were almost immediately greeted by an incredibly friendly and professional employee named John, who truly went above and beyond throughout the entire experience.
To give a little context, I had actually come in during a previous visit where I had already selected my wedding suit—a Powder Blue Linen Suit—which I absolutely love and can’t wait to wear on the big day in July. That earlier visit was with the store manager Pete, who deserves a massive shoutout as well. Pete was the one who got this whole process started and set the tone for what would become an exceptional experience. He was outgoing, down-to-earth, and treated me like more than just a customer. He was honest, patient, understanding, and truly cared about helping me find the right look. You can tell he genuinely enjoys helping people feel their best, and that energy carried through the whole store—even on the day he wasn’t there.
Back to the most recent visit: John had no problem pulling up my reservation and group code right away. Everything was incredibly organized, which took all the stress out of the process. From there, he walked us through every step—confirming measurements, reviewing the suit details, and helping coordinate shirts, ties, and accessories. He offered honest and thoughtful advice, gave suggestions I hadn’t considered, and most importantly—he made the entire experience feel fun. We shared some good laughs, and John’s upbeat personality made what could’ve been a stressful task feel more like hanging out with a friend who happens to have a great sense of style.
What really impressed me was how much care he put into making sure both my father and my fiancée’s father were comfortable and confident in their suit choices as well. He asked questions, listened to what they liked, and made sure they were happy with their selections. Watching him work with each of us individually showed just how much pride he takes in his work—and it made a huge difference.
John is the kind of employee every store dreams of having. He's knowledgeable, personable, and truly goes the extra mile to make sure your experience is unforgettable. And Pete, though he wasn’t there that day, absolutely laid the groundwork for all of this with his incredible customer service and attention to detail from the very beginning.
If you're preparing for a wedding or any major event and want to look your best without feeling overwhelmed, do yourself a favor and visit Jos. A. Bank in Denville. Ask for John and give Pete some recognition if he’s there too—they are truly top-notch professionals who care deeply about their customers and make the whole experience a breeze. Thanks again to both of them for making such an important day feel easy, exciting,...
Read moreDO NOT rent a tuxedo from Jos. A Bank. Groom didn't receive the correct tux until the DAY OF the wedding. Very stressful. Major Fail!
My sister got married over the weekend and us guys had the more horrible experience with Jos. A Bank. Not one person out of the 7 of us were measured right and some people, including the groom received the items, i.e. tie, vest, pants.
All of our pants were extremely wide. We looked like MC Hammer wearing parachute pants. My father (father of the bride) ended up renting pants from another place because they couldn't get a pair that looked right. He also bought is own shoes from someplace else because the shoes were majorly uncomfortable.
-Father of the Groom received his pants and they were 5 inches, too short. No joke. you could see the top of his socks, they were so high. He didn't get his pants until the day of the wedding!!!!!!! -Groom received the wrong vest/tie combo and again didn't receive the correct tux til the day of. The rest of us needed major fixes... pants too long/short, suit too long/too short. Why measure us if they weren't even done right.
In general, the tuxedo's were very really poor quality. Not what you would expect from Jos. A Bank. The pants looked like they were a different shade of black compared to the jacket. The suits just looked off.
Oh and the guys who worked there had no idea how to work the computer system. It took over two hours for 4 guys to get fitted because they couldn't figure out what to or how to put our measurements into the system. Very stressful.
Plus, I paid less for my tux at a local place for the last wedding I was in. Jos. A Bank was high priced and low quality.
So, for your wedding, do yourself a favor and go someplace else. You will be much less stressed and will be much happier...
Read moreExperience went well at first... was treated well and sales person did a nice job with fitting me for a tux rental for a wedding. Fast forward to the day of wedding... I was the best man so the groom and I were putting on our tuxes and getting dressed. It was pretty apparent that both of the tuxes and shirts had some high mileage on them as they were somewhat worn out and had some runs in the material. The clasp for my vest broke as soon as we touched it (not even trying to secure it yet), so ended up having to use the straps to tie it in a knot instead of securing it properly... let me tell you how unprofessional that looked... LOOKED LIKE GARBAGE! When I returned the tux the next day, I told the person who took the return about the vest incident and he couldn't have care less. I understand about trying to get the most money out of your products, but there seems to be very little quality control over their items and even less concern about customer retention. This was absolutely my first and last experience with these guys. Guess they figure they're big enough that qc and customer retention...
