Disappointing Experience at Morris County Farms Inc.

My husband and I visited Morris County Farms Inc. around April to purchase plants for our DIY front yard landscaping project. We placed a substantial order exceeding $2000, which included boxwood, Incrediball hydrangeas, and April Night sage. While the staff was friendly, the service and product quality fell short of our expectations.

The issues began when we were informed that the Incrediball hydrangeas needed to be special-ordered, with an expected delivery time of one week. However, after multiple follow-up calls, we were told that the delivery date was uncertain. The hydrangeas finally arrived after more than two weeks, but two of the plants appeared sickly, and one boxwood was in poor condition.

When I requested replacements, I was told that they would notify us when new boxwood shipments arrived. Initially, they hesitated to exchange the boxwood, citing that the specific variety we ordered was unlikely to be affected by disease. Unfortunately, we never received a call to arrange for replacements, and we ultimately decided to purchase substitutes from another garden farm at a significantly lower cost.

While the initial visit and staff interactions were pleasant, the subsequent service and product quality issues led to a disappointing experience. We will not be returning to Morris County Farms Inc. in the future.

Recommendation: Improve communication and follow-through on special orders, ensure timely delivery, and prioritize customer satisfaction by providing healthy plants and prompt replacements...

I just have to say, Morris County Farms has such a great customer service. Let me start out with the fact that I DO NOT have a green thumb nor had I ever picked flowers for a flower bed before. The ladies in the back greenhouses were so helpful with suggestions when I showed them pictures of the beds I was dealing with and the type of shade to no shade as well. That was on two separate occasions. Today I managed to run over my Rain Wand, which I purchased from them two years ago. I called today to see if they still carried them, the gentleman on the phone says the do, and asked if there was a particular color I wanted (I actually hoped they still had the berry color 🤣) he went to check, and let me know they did carry it but not the color I wanted. He proceeded to ask what color choice is my second and said he would put one aside for me to pick up the next day. That wasn’t necessary of him, but he was happy to do so! Nice selection of greenhouse plants and outdoor plants. I gave only two stars for two reasons. First, because the houseplants I bought all had mealybugs and scale that spread to my other plants. Second, the workers seem annoyed when you ask for help. Not the young ladies working in the back greenhouses, they are very nice. But the woman in the front greenhouse is rude and seems like she is in a hurry. The men who work outside, while I found them very knowledgeable about whether or not they had a particular plant and knew where it was located in the huge area out there, they were not willing to actually walk you over to the spot. Pointing only and leaving you on your own. And one guy saw me struggling to lift a heavy plant and offered no help...
