I will say that if you don't want to get blatantly ripped off by people who don't have the slightest idea how to give you a fair price for your merchandise then do not come here. I took a 55 inch LG 4K TV to them so I could get money to pay some unexpected bills. I thought that since it was not even a year old and I paid $800 for it I would be able to get more than enough to pay my bills. Well I went in there and I told them I needed to get at least $200 for some bills and the guy just stood there and said that he could get me $150 at the most. He didn't look it up or even ask me questions about it. Finally, I told him I wanted to talk to a supervisor about what he was offering me and he said that he was the freaking supervisor! I then told him to look it up and then give me a fair price or I was going to make his day worse than it already was. After another 15 minutes of looking at the computer and pricing my TV, he said that he could give me $200 but that was stretching it. I then asked him what he found for prices on the TV and he said that he couldn't find the exact model number anywhere so he just found a comparable used one for $375. At this point I was done trying to get a better deal for it and just wanted to leave so I took the $200 and left. When it came time for me to pick it up I had a broken vehicle that I needed to fix and I had to let the TV go. Then, after a few months, I went in there to find some new DVD's and found out that they were selling it for $650. I was so livid and I started to speak my mind about the low ball price they gave me for my TV. I guess it is their policy to avoid giving you even 50% of the value on your stuff. I asked around and I talked to at least 20 people who had the same experience with them that I did. My opinion is that they are definitely not the only pawn shop in town but they are definitely the worst. No moral fortitude or sense of responsibility to their fellow man. Horrible...
Read moreI've had a couple of bad experiences at this location with the same girl. The short girl that likes to give everybody evil looks, that kinda dresses like a boy. My first bad experience was when I went up there to buy some subwoofers, one of them didn't work. So I brought it back, I told her it didn't work in my car, and I even plugged it into the receiver in my house and it still didn't work. She then told me that that subwoofer would not work on a house stereo system. I laughed because that's not true. Then come to find out when she took the wires apart. The inside of the wire was not hooked to the sub at that point.I didn't want it.I just picked a different one. Didn't even get an apology for her mistake. The second of bad experience that had with the same person was I tried to sell an air compressor and she told me that sounded like the bearing was going out in the motor which it wasn't and it was the belt that wasn't tight. Then she told me that the gauge wasn't working, which it was. Then she told me I would have to fix the rattle noise before she would consider it. I took it to another pawn shop and ended up getting 60. I told the guy at the other pawn shop what she said. And he laughed, he literally tightened the belt right in front of me, and the rattle noise went away. I will nit go back and if I could give 0...
Read moreBetter than some of the other pawn shops around Des Moines. I do wish they had more variety to their shop.. Like gaming systems, games, cameras, music players, speaker sets, etc. It seems very limited and a bit everpriced. When pawning or selling I havent had issues. The employees were attentive, friendly, informative, and honest. Pawn shops are pawn shops. You'll never be happy with what you sell/pawn for the price they give. It is...
