My shopping experience was awful here. We didn't have a budget for the wedding but I put down a number I that I thought was conservative, when my mom picked a dress that was over that number the sales lady rudely pointed out that that was out of our range. My mom told her there was no budget was just me being conservative and there was no budget. She rudely gave me the dress to try on. I found a dress I loved and even though the service was awful I decided to get it anyway because it was what I wanted. I came in to try the dress on when it arrived a month and a half before my wedding. Besides some defects in the keyhole it was perfect. I was assured they would fix those defects when I came in for alterations. I left the dress with the store. 30 days before my wedding I came back and the keyhole looked like a little kid took scissors to it and the front of the dress was misshaped. I was assured no one touched it which is impossible because they were supposed to fix the defects and they blamed the front on my shoulders being uneven. No one in the store took responsibility and acted as though this was no big deal. Their only solution was to rush a new one to me but it would not be a petite dress like the one I paid for. I'm 4'11 the petite was necessary so that I would not lose the detail in the bottom when the dress was taken up. I was told by Maggie Sottero stores in Chicago and New York NOT to get a reg size 6. It would look awful. In the end, I had to push my wedding from Sept 2013 to June 2014 because no matter what a new dress would not get here in time for my wedding. Any bride would sympathize that this is a heartbreaking situation. The store had nothing to say except, "too bad it didn't work out." Horrendous store! Horrendous service!...
Read moreI’ve never left a negative review in my life- This was by far the worst experience with a small business I’ve ever had. My initial appointment was fine. The manager Christi was a very good sales person and towards the end of the 1.5 hour appointment, got very pushy at me to make a selection. I chose a dress and took it home that day. After a few days, I realized that I loved another dress that I tried on. It was more expensive so Christi very quickly responded that she could bend the rules to switch to the dress with a bigger price tag. Shortly thereafter, I found out that I was pregnant and knew that there was no way I would be able to wear this dress. We were bumping the wedding up, the dress wouldn’t be here in time, and it wouldn’t fit or have any time for alterations. Christi then told me there was nothing that could be done because the dress was already ordered. She and the owner both told me that I was out of luck and that they could not bend the rules (although they bent the rules immediately after finding out that I wanted a more expensive dress) and recommended that I sell the dress on Facebook marketplace. Knowing that this is a dress store and they have every means to keep the dress and resell it, it’s very disappointing that they chose to stick a newly pregnant woman with a $1700 dress that they know she cannot wear. Huge applaud to them for knowing how to make a dollar, but very disappointed to know that they don’t care in the slightest about helping their clients have the best wedding day possible. If there’s any chance that your wedding plans could get a wrench thrown in them (which there is for everyone), I’d recommend finding a salon that cares more about doing right by their customers than making...
Read moreI am the maid of honor for a upcoming wedding. The consultant there didn't have anything super close to what she wanted but she pulled a few things to try on. The entire time she kept telling us we had to order that day to get the dress in. The bride kept expressing that she wanted 1 or 2 days to think about a dress. The consultant pushed her to buy it because she had to order it "today" and we could spend over 1,000 extra to alter it how she wanted. Then when we asked to see it in white online the consultant refused said they didn't have any pictures and refused to even look online for one for us to see since the sample was in pink. The bride felt as though she couldn't say no because they were so pushy so she said yes. Which we understand we shouldn't have and should have left. When the dress came in they didn't contact us for at least 2 weeks and sent a letter in the mail. No call. The consultant sized her in store and ordered her the size she would need that would allow the alterations. Once we got the dress and got it home it was 3 sizes TOO SMALL!!! We even ordered the size they told us too. We ended up going to another bridal store and buying a entire new dress that was the right size and actually what she wanted without alterations. Now we are stuck with a dress 3 sizes to small because the shop ordered her the wrong size so that obviously wont work for the wedding. They only care about making money and not making the bride happy. Also don't expect to take pictures because you aren't allowed to take any to think on them and review them...
