I don’t know where to begin with this amazing place. I’ve never loved having taste buds more than I did first coming to this place! By far the BEST skillet I’ve ever had. I literally said to my girlfriend before entering this place for the first time wanting hash browns,eggs and biscuits and gravy && let me tell you; when I saw they had a SKILLET with literally all the things I just named. And oh my don’t get me started on the pancakes. Ugh. To die for ! Perfectly crispy golden on the outside; && warm softness on the inside. I promise you this little drive I made from Davenport to Dewitt was so worth itttt 10/10 I can’t wait to come back next week! One-star rating reflected due to an excellent meal with good service which was marred by the owner having staff start closing cleanup while our group was still eating a half hour before posted closing time. Although we were initially impressed with the cleanliness of the cafe, we didn't know we were going to be subjected to the overwhelming odor of Pinesol or equivalent. It was actually difficult to breathe and the last several bites of my delicious tenderloin and fries were not enjoyable because I could only taste the cleaning formula odor, it was so thick. DeWitt main street has a wonderful breakfast stop called Sunrise Cafe. From the moment you walk in and are greeted with a smile from wait staff carrying pots of coffee and mugs you know that a Midwest treasure is waiting just for you. The menu includes the usual eggs and breakfast meats as well as breakfast skillet, pancakes and other tasty choices - really can't go wrong with anything. Food came promptly and my coffee was refilled cheerfully. Glancing around your could both townsfolk and visitors enjoying the food and home town quality and comfort that we all yearn for.
