Randy's Neighborhood Market — Local services in DeWitt

The stores selection is good, the prices for a local grocer are understandable, and the shelves are always well stocked. Randy's is a great store with one huge exception for me. The quality in the meat section is questionable and seemingly getting worse. Most of the beef is noticably oxidized, and although the outside of the ground beef might be pink, the inside is oxidized as well. I feel like they're recycling old meat or are dying the ground beef. The selection of cuts is also not that great, and what finally made me decide to leave a review and decide never to buy meat here was the blue stuff growing on what looked like a totally normal steak today. I usually like to shop local whenever I can but the prices are too high here to get all of my groceries. It’s good for random items that you need on the fly. Awesome bakery, good fried chicken, and a decent liquor selection. Produce is usually well stocked. Most employees are nice. The last few times I have been in early evening I have been checked out by a young man that did not display a good work ethic. No hello or goodbye, throwing grocery items after scanning, playing on his phone when I walk up…etc. Most of their employees aren’t like this but I seem to keep getting this kid every time I go through. Upon my very first visit, all employees were extremely pleasant and knowledgeable etc. However, Jennifer, who was working with Chester's Chicken et al, was not only pleasant and knowledgeable, but was an excellent multitasker and I praise her work ethics. I spent twice as much as I would have because of her encouraging advice on the quality, freshness, and overall knowledge and pride in her MANY products.
