Terrible customer service. I'm not sure if it's a racial thing or if the associate was just lazy.
I had gone in to exchange my car battery per AutoZone's warranty policy. I had explained that every time I wanted to start my car, the car had to be jumped and would hold no charge after the drive. The associate had asked me to move my car the curb for battery testing and even saw that I had to jump my car just to move the vehicle to the test location. After getting no readings from the battery, he says he cannot honor the warranty replacement without certification from a dealership stating the battery needs to be replaced. So despite the battery being so dead that the tester couldn't get any readings, he still wouldn't honor the warranty replacement. A few days later, I indeed went to a Lexus dealership to have the battery tested and even the mechanics there told me they think the AutoZone employee just didnt want to deal with my issue and turned me away. After visiting the dealership and obtaining written confirmation that the vehicle is unsafe to drive given the state of the battery, I had gone to a different AutoZone location that was close by the dealership. I approach a sales associate and explain that my battery needs to be replaced and is still within the warranty time period. Without any questions or doubt, he looks up the order history to find the battery model, grabs one off the shelf and without any hesitation, switches out the old battery and installs the new one. After the installation, I asked if it's normal for AutoZone to send customers to dealerships and he said it is not and very strange that the associate at the Diamond Bar location...

I went to the autozone to buy a replacement wiper. Afterwards I went right to the drive-through car wash. Unfortunately my water auto sensers were on and started running in the middle of the car wash! Both of my wipers got torn off in the middle of it and I had to drive back over!
When I got there, I didn't even mention it, and asked instead for new wipers. But some of the employees remembered me and asked what happened since I had been there just an hour before buying the same thing. After I explained the situation they were more than helpful and brought over the manager who said they would be able to replace the ones I just bought for free.
Thank you so much Kristin and the rest of the employees for taking care of me when something bad happened. I truly appreciate it.

Since the original purchase was November 20th 2021, now it's November 26th 2024 despite the fact I have had three batteries now they will not extend a warranty six more days to give me another battery. At first I thought I left my headlights on and it literally killed the battery, then I thought maybe there was a short in the truck, now on my third battery that is beyond charging they won't accept the fact that it's the battery. This battery I got in August when the last battery wouldn't recharge. So it's been less than 4 months that this Duralast battery has been alive and now it's dead. This is for my older Mercedes and it's almost twice the size of a normal battery. It's probably the most expensive battery they have. It turns out to be garbage. Even if you shop at AutoZone, don't buy the batteries buy an interstate or something else but don't buy your batteries...
