New Wave Hobbies — Local services in Dickson

I've been a customer with Kenny and New Wave Hobbies since before their move to the new location, and let me tell you guys- there is not a more wholesome, caring, and joyful atmosphere in all of Dickson.

The staff always greet you the second they see you, and if you have questions, they're more than happy to help!

Their selection of retro games and collectibles is by and far the best you can find in a brick and mortar store, and their prices are better than what you'll find online 99% of the time. Not only that, but if it's an older gaming title, they go to the effort of restoring things like the battery in an old Pokemon game before putting it out to the floor. If you don't know a lot about restoring those, let me tell you- it's not easy if you want to do it yourself, and it's not cheap if you want someone to do it for you. Not only will you be getting a better price on vintage games in that way, but you'll be getting a better product with longer lasting value.

That's not the best thing about the store, though- no, the best thing about the store is the staff. Whether it's the owner, Kenny, or any of the employees, you're going to get great service and have an awesome, wholesome time. I could honestly spend hours just talking with them about gaming and nerd culture. They always make you feel welcome and wanted, and they're always eager to help me and my family make great memories.

My daughter, for instance, absolutely ADORES Fuecoco, and she will ALWAYS remember getting him from the gachapon machine! We'll keep coming back and making more awesome memories as she grows.

If I could leave 0 stars I would do so. Never in my life have I even considered leaving a review let alone a bad one. Today I was trying to help an elderly friend of mine out that had some UGO cards. Trying to help someone out in a time of need. I first went to Frost sports cards and the gentleman was extremely helpful and kind and referred me to this place.

Upon arrival, i felt invisible as if I wasn’t standing there. I was treated with the most blatant disrespect I’ve ever been shown walking into an establishment for the first time. They were rude, not helpful and pretty much just treated me like something they would wipe off the bottom of their shoe i have taken the time to post this because it was the worst customer service I’ve ever been shown in my life. I would strongly suggest never ever walking into this place if you want to be treated with kindness...

New Wave Hobbies is a five star establishment because of the owner and his employees. Everyone does a wonderful job creating a welcoming and fun environment. I'm with Kenny at the shop many days and I see how he interacts with everyone. He makes special effort to connect with every kid that comes in. He takes extra time to sometimes have them figure the math for their change, he listens to what they've got going on in life, he looks through their collections and makes all feel welcome. He also always looks through what anyone brings in looking to sell/trade, no matter how busy the shop is. He looks up pricing right in front of the customers, informing them of what their items are worth. Kenny goes above and beyond to ensure fair pricing on trades and fair pricing on all his products. The store is a great place for kids and adults to come...
