I'm not normally one to complain and have always tried to live by the rule my momma taught me "if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all" but in this case I'm more annoyed then anything. I ordered a shredded bbq chicken sandwich and chips, half way through my meal I bite into a chicken bone the size of my pinky, needless to say I lost my appetite and was done. I debated on whether or not I should say anything at all and even discussed it with my sister...I'm sitting next to two ladies and their children and I think to myself what if it had been a child? So I take my plate with the half eaten sandwich and bone laying next to it and I say to the lady "I don't want to be a Karen but this could have turned out a lot different"...she takes the plate seemingly annoyed and says "oh yeah we try to tell people it contains bones" as shes walking to the trash can. Um, shredded chicken should NOT contain bones, please don't play it off like it's normal?!?!? That's not normal! Maybe a small bone can be overlooked but something that size is carelessness. My point is don't treat a customer like they are presenting you with something that happens all the time when in fact it doesn't or shouldn't anyhow. Her nonchalant attitude changed my whole perception...
Read moreAdvertised a time they would be open, and I showed up to order for a large group. I waited until 5pm to arrive as their sign and google page said they would reopen, & they turned me away. I was told they advertised on Facebook & I should have been aware based on a posting they had made a day prior. Terrible way to do business. No one checks Facebook before heading to a restaurant. I will not return, but instead recommend Ronnie's Q a few blocks away. Great service, great staff, & the brisket was AMAZING. Edit: I did not wait till the last minute. I waited to be 1st when they opened to make it easier for everyone. It was for later that evening. The young woman at the counter definitely told me and the gentleman with me that there was a Facebook post we should have seen that would have explained the change of hours. I wouldn't know if they microwave their food or not, because they turned us away. After I made this post, I recieved a very rude and confrontational reply which just reinforces poor management. There are better bbq places to spend money in this town & I am free to...
Read moreIn my opinion the ribs at Back Alley are the best I have ever eaten and, since I travel for work continously, I have eaten at 100's of BBQ joints all over the South. Some of them are amongst the most famous BBQ joints in the country.
Not only are they the best I've had his rub and sauces are very unique. I've never tasted any other ribs quite like this. My wife and I have tried for years to figure out what Justin is doing but we still haven't figured it out.
I'd give my opinion on his other offerings but the first time I went there I ordered ribs and they were so good I am afraid to order anyhting else off the menu for fear I won't like it as much and feel like I missed an opportunity to eat the wonderful ribs. However my wife says the chicken is just as nice as the ribs so I'd probably be OK with that as well.
Don't miss a chance to eat here. If you have to drive a ways it's going to...
