Asked how much a large Iced Machioto is. $5 and something... A little high but what the... been a minute for a Machioto so I take it. took em bout 8 minutes to whip it up. Gives me the tiniest large I'd ever seen. I double question... Is this a large? yep. oook...I says. just out of curiosity may I see a small? And without flinching puts what appears to be the same size cup next to my so called large. I had to call and ask how many ounces are in a small, how many in a large. 12oz for small, 20 for large. Go to the kitchen about to do some measuring and notice sadly, 20oz on the bottom of the cup. they're banking bout 200% profit margine and make it impossible to support local stores. Go to Dunkin Donuts for it iced machiotos, where the large is larger and cheaper...and quiet frankly, BETTER! I'm generally not a corporate buff, but at least when I call there to check the prices I get an official store name greeting. I called houseblend and it sounded like a prebusent pool party with a simply hello in between giggles. had to ask if this was coffee shop. whoever the owner is needs to hire competent help or worst, stop hiring cause their cute or maybe, MAYBE roll up your sleeves and get in there yourself. Amature, unprofessional, over compensated profit margins, worst place I've been to on Dickson yet. and I'm dense, takes a lot to apaul me, so hats off for the funky impression! $5.00 for 20oz. you should be ashamed. Can't you just hire couple beany wearing laid back dudes in their late 20's who never let go of their teen years like most coffee shops... down side is you won't get to feel like Hue Heffner when you do Role...
Read moreCATERING SERVICES EXCELLENT!!! I have always had great experiences going to House Blends for a quick lunch or coffee, but had also heard that they offer excellent catering and serving for events. We recently had a "beloved employee" retire and wanted to have a retirement reception for her. I must give a "5-Star-phenomenal" on all aspects. The selections made available by Holly were "mind boggling"..as there were so many delicious choices. They literally handled everything, even supplying the clear plastic plates, utensils and napkins and setting an attractive water and fruit tea station. Her 2 staff members were exceptionally professional and attentive. They not only replenished the food, but they would periodically check on the food to replace with fresh, warm items. they would then box the food up for us that they were taking off the buffet. They boxed the remaining cake for the honoree and placed it in the refrigerator with her name on it. They also placed all the leftovers in carry-out trays for us to bring home. I am ususally OCD and need to check on everything, but it was nice to get to relax with my co-employees knowing that EVERYTHING was being handled in an exceptionally professional and friendly way!! Thanks, Holly, Jeremy and your...
Read moreI can't believe I am just now trying this coffee shop! I don't live in Dickson but in a near by area and I met a friend here for coffee recently and was so happy with my experience that I am trying to think of reasons to go to Dickson. I worked as a barista and even managed a large scale corporate coffee shop and I can tell you that the latte I had was perfectly made, the atmosphere was good and the staff welcoming. And those muffins...well I am still thinking about them. I got my kids hot chocolates and I had the house signature Vienna Latte, which was out of the norm for me as far as lattes go. It was so creamy with just a hint of honey and cinnamon and the vanilla was not too sweet. The kids loved their banana chocolate chip muffins and the mocha chocolate muffin I had was great, it was moist inside with a slightly crunchy top. I really want to try some of their other food now, the salads looked very good. Everything was very reasonably priced and I enjoyed browsing the unique gifts they had. I really wish we had a coffee shop like this in my area because I just keep craving that...
