I much prefer to support local businesses, but don't want to spend good money on unwarranted stuff. My daughters and I were vacationing in the area and found this store. We came in, and I saw a couple things which caught my eye, but those items were each $100+. I didn't think the prices were unwarranted, but for a souvenir, it was more than I wanted to spend. BUT... When I was looking over the things I was interested in, Mr. Turpin was so helpful with information. He let me see how the ring looked in natural sunlight too. Then I told him I wanted to think it over before deciding, but it would be several days. Long story short, I came back several days later and really took my time to see if the item I was looking at was still the one I really wanted. It was. I ended up buying a beautiful color-changing sapphire ring which I've worn nearly every day since I bought it. The gem is blue, reddish, or purple-ish, depending on the light. I'm a very happy customer. Thank you, Mr. Turpin! Oh, he also helps stray cats...

I brought in two watches in need of batteries. Not having heard back, I called two weeks later and learned that they are ready. When I went to pay, Mr. Turpin told me that one was $40 and the other, $60 for a total of $100! I couldn't believe it but he stood his ground and defended the price as best he could. I paid what he charged but made it clear that I will never return. At a minimum, I would have expected a phonecall before the work was done, alerting me to the out-of-line cost and giving me an opportunity to pick them up and not have the work done there.
