I wish that I was allowed to give more stars…They deserve more than 5! My wife and I were traveling to Knoxville when she saw their sign while passing through Dillard. She googled the menu and we decided that we had to check them out on the way home…and am I glad we did! Oh my goodness, I’m not lying when I say it’s the best meal I’ve EVER had. Fifty-seven years on this planet and I’ve eaten in Savannah, Charleston, Baltimore, Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas and New Orleans…I’ve had some dang good meals. I mean DANG good…and nothing made me “ooh” and “aah” like the Blue Hound. If you recall that famous scene in the diner in “When Harry Met Sally”, my reaction to my meal was like Sally slapping the table and throwing her hair back! And when I say “my meal”, I’m not going to lie, my wife and I split four entrees between us…so worth it! I’m glad they’re an hour away from us or I would be fat and broke from eating there all the time. That said, we will definitely make the trip back…and soon. It’s a destination restaurant worth making the trip for. Cute little place with counter service but the atmosphere is great, the staff is super nice and the food is out of this world! Plus they serve Coke products which after spending a few days in Tennessee and North Carolina where those heathens insist on serving Pepsi products, it’s nice to come back to God’s Country and have a proper Coca Cola! I noticed they also serve my favorite adult beverage, PBR in a 16oz can but I was driving so I stuck with the Coke Zero! We had the double smash burger, the brisket cheesesteak, the brisket eggrolls, wings, collards, baked potato salad, mama’s Mac n cheese, chow chow…yes, a bit of everything! Guy Fieri’s ‘Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives’ has nothing on the Blue Hound…Nothing! Don’t take my word for it, check them out! The food and staff is world class…well done Blue Hound, well...

This is a very decent BBQ house on the outskirts of Dillard. As of June/ July 2025 there is construction going on that makes it a bit harrowing to get in and out during moderate to high traffic ( which is becoming the norm.) It sneaks up on you coming from Clayton if you are not familiar with the area. It's okay to drive past from that side as that's where the somewhat small parking lot is.

There were two very large and rather noisy groups while they were here and this undoubtedly may have coloured my party of five's opinions of the general atmosphere here; it wasn't great. Mostly because it was Hot. We were indoors and after a little less than an hour visiting with each other the men's shirts were sticking to their backs. It was That hot and humid on the dinner floor. It was -almost- more comfortable out on the patio where the temperature was approximately 85 degrees with a slight breeze, no joke.

The bathrooms were clean and air conditioned well, thankfully. The staff was perfectly friendly and we didn't wait terribly long for our meals.

The food was super tasty, everyone agreed on that point, but I was the only one who needed a small to-go box and we are none of us big eaters. The portions were just small.

So, it was good and we could definitely recommend getting it to go if you are in the area. But, maybe dress light if you wanna sit down and don't go terribly hungry and order...

FINALLY a great bbq restaurant in Rabun County!!! This restaurant used to be located in Scaly Mountain, but they just moved to Dillard. Buckle up for this review, because I’ve got a lot to brag about. The Food - Excellent! Me and my family had brisket and smoked turkey, and they were both TOP NOTCH! Their collard greens are the best I have ever put in my mouth, and they have a unique pimento cheese grits that are just incredible. The kettle chips that come with the sandwiches are perfect; not so crunchy and hard that they tear up your mouth, but thin and seasoned just right. And if you are a sauce person, get ready for a huge selection of sauces. The Service - We ate at around 2:00 pm on the second day they opened, and it was still super busy. HOWEVER, the food came out very quickly and they brought it with a smile! The owners and their family are such great people. The Atmosphere - A super cool location and building. It was an old pharmacy, and they kept many of the old rustic parts of the building. They have updated other parts and added some really cool local pictures and decorations. Final Words - DEFINITELY worth a lunchtime or a night out. Great restaurant in North Georgia! P.S. The restaurant name and logo design are perfect. You will probably want to...
