Last night, we ventured to La Cabaña in Dillard, GA, eager to experience their newly opened restaurant. The parking lot was jam-packed, which usually signals a long, frustrating wait. But La Cabaña had us seated almost immediately, a pleasant surprise for a new spot that clearly needed the extra space and parking. The new building feels bright and welcoming, a huge step up from their original next door.
We started with a bowl of chicken soup and from the Lite menu, and I mean a bowl. It could have easily fed a small village. The soup had just the right kick of saltiness, loaded with at least four whole sliced avocados—so divine and scrumptious, it transported me straight to Mexico. They’re not afraid of salt and flavor down there, and neither was this dish. Every spoonful was a celebration of bold, authentic taste.
The food came out lightning-fast, and the complimentary chips and salsa were on point. The chips arrived warm, fresh out of the fryer, with salsa that could go toe-to-toe with anything I’ve had south of the border. My daughter demolished her steak quesadilla like it was a work of art, and who could blame her? It was damn good.
I opted for the steak Ranchero—ribeye with Mexican rice, bell peppers, onions, and refried beans. Each bite was packed with flavor, the kind that lingers and makes you appreciate real food. The booth was cozy, leather seats inviting, and the music in the background was the perfect accompaniment—enough to add atmosphere without overwhelming the conversation. My wife went all-in on a combo of steak burrito, ground beef tacos, and a chicken enchilada. She declared each one a masterpiece, crafted with care and bursting with flavor.
It’s not often I leave a restaurant with zero complaints, but La Cabaña delivered. The food, the service, the ambiance—everything was flawless. This place has officially earned its...
Read moreIt's been a little while since I tried a new restaurant. This one was a real winner then I'll definitely return to. The food smelled so awesome when it arrived at my table I had to take a picture before I messed it up just in case it tasted as good as it smelled and it did. There's nothing else to say but this food was awesome. Needed no salt or seasonings or anything like that. This dish was the steak and shrimp dish which is about $23.00. It appears to be among their top menu items and it was well worth it. Yes, it was enough for two people but I did my best to finish what I could. These people have it "going on" as far as my taste buds are concerned and I am a very particular cook. The dinner even included a side of guacamole which most Mexican restaurants want to charge you separately for but this meal was...
Read moreGot to the restaurant at 4:40 and were literally the only two people in there until others started piling in a few minutes later. We ordered before everyone, got our drinks, etc. Just walked out after leaving $5 to cover our drinks. Three other tables who came in WAY after us had already received their food, one group had even finished eating, and this was after asking a waiter to check on our food for us. We literally sat in there for 45 minutes to eat a basket of chips and have two teas. I’ll never visit again as this isn’t the first time this has happened. Maybe if I wasn’t a local, I would’ve gotten better service. All restaurants here care about are these...
