I am a Contractor that lives very close to this store. However, I seldomlly go here because almost every time I do it ends up being a wasted trip when they don't have what I need or it's 5 times as much as it cost at big store. Now today I stopped in here when I was having a problem with a small job I was doing, as I was explaining my issue with the Owner he kept yawning + rolling his eyes, I guess because I was taking more than 5 seconds to explain the situation... He ended up not having anything to help me with my issue, but then he gives me an attitude because I wasn't interested in filling out some form he gave me so that the store can send me millions of annoying emails.... I think that was the straw that broke the camels back and I do not see myself ever stepping foot in this store again . I realize it's frustrating for him to compete with Lowe's + Home Depot, but one sure way to run off the business that you do have is to yawn, roll your eyes about the reason a person came in the store in the first place and then try to jamb some nonsense down their throat and get pissy with them when they don't follow your orders. I threw his silly form in the garbage on my way out the door. He should give seminars on how to kill...
Read moreToday I decided to dig up my garden out front and make it enjoyable for me to sit out there while Laughton plays. After picking Laughton up, I was trying to decide where to go to get a shovel and two chairs to put out front. I passed by Wal-Mart, home depot and tractor supply on my way home but decided I would go to the local hardware store up the street from my house. Laughton was hungry and cranky but I knew I wouldn't be long so decided to go for it. The chairs I picked out were too big to fit in my car but the woman who helped me was so generous and offered to deliver them herself, with her personal vehicle, after she was clocked out for the day. I accepted the offer and was so grateful. This is why I love to support small businesses. I highly doubt anyone at Wal-Mart would have offered to do this. Hats off to Brenda from the ace hardware store...
Read moreI have bought several chain saws at this store trying to support a local small town business. I've purchased 3 saws over the years from this store spending over $1500. I took my chain saw in to have it serviced because it was hard to start and I broke the pull trying to start it. I was told that the part was hard to get from stihl and that it would cost me $188 dollars to have it repaired. I use the saw minimally and it was only 2-3 years old. So I thought better to buy a new saw. $485 later i found the part on Amazon for $25 and am now told to tune it cost me $60. A far cry from the $475 I spent to replace the saw . They wouldn't even offer to do the tune up for free. Next time I'll do my...
