I want to start off by saying that I chose Wags and Whiskers because of a referral from someone who had a positive experience. I, however, did not. I understand that there is always a chance for little hiccups with animal based services, but when it comes to pets, the services offered must meet the services actually rendered. This is a place that touts your dog's comfort as well as your peace of mind and that they are cared for to your specifications. (My reservation was for 3 days and 2 nights, with a camera, so I could attend my Aunt's memorial out of state.) My experience began with the drop-off, which went smoothly. This seemed like a good sign, but it was pretty much all downhill from there. After having to ask how, I accessed the camera and immediately realized I was not viewing my dog at all, but rather, someone else's dog. I called to see if they had just given me the wrong code. They responded āanother dog is in that room waiting to be picked upā. Which, of course means, they booked my dog into a room they couldn't even guarantee. I chose this location, in no small part, because I would be able to check him whenever I wanted. This was his first time being boarded. Not only did they book me in an unavailable room, but they saw no issue with throwing him in some area I had no access to. This is something I should have been told before leaving my dog under their care. Unfortunately , I had no choice but to leave him there. I dropped him off at 6:30 a.m. and was not able to see him in his room until 6p.m. because he was in an area with no cameras. Prior to leaving him there, I told them I did not want him in daycare because I did not know how he would do in that setting and didn't feel comfortable with it. I did not authorize it or any testing for it. Saturday afternoon, I received a call as I was walking up to the memorial service. The lady is telling me that he did well on his "temp test", which again, I did not want nor authorize. She then asked me if he could join daycare. I told her that I was literally walking into the service and would call back. She said, "Okay and sorry for calling during it." I called back when I was available, and no one answered. I checked his camera in his room, and again, he is not there. Low and behold, he was in daycare. This is a 109lb, randomly anxious dog that I told them I did not want in daycare. Something awful could have happened to my dog and/or someone else's if he were to be triggered. I finally arrive during pick-up time after a lot of driving and an emotional weekend. I was annoyed with them but too tired to fight too much. My bill was supposed to be $90 for the reservation/ package I chose. But they had daycare on his bill. After one receptionist insisted I pay for a service I didn't ask for, the other receptionist reluctantly removed that portion. Though no one would acknowledge the extremely unprofessional nature of them doing this without permission. To top off a weekend of frustration and unprofessionalism from Wags and Whiskers, I realized my dog's collar and rabies tag are not with his belongings. I asked them where it was, and after "looking" for it, they ultimately came to the conclusion that it is lost, probably with someone elseās stuff. Which was somehow an acceptable answer. While I was given an apology for the lost collar, I was not given any apologies or shown any remorse for all of the other infractions. I also never received any kind of remorse for putting not only my dog, but other people dogs at risk with the daycare they put him in. And, while I appreciate that there are facilities out there that take their time to care for pets, I donāt appreciate one that makes mistake after mistake, small and extremely large, and acts like it's all just fine. I think the facility itself, is wonderful, but I doubt I would trust them with my dog again considering the lack of proper information, consideration, ability to ensure my dog is safe based on my specifications, or accountability for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe got Belleā¦.our English Cream Golden when she was 3. She had some training at that timeā¦.BUT not at Wags and Whiskers (Wags). This year we decided to put her through the 4 Week Training Program at Wags.
There are several places in the Wiregrass where you can have your dog trainedā¦. Wags is right up there at the top. Joleene and Scott, who I am proud to have known for several yearsā¦.are at the top of the organization chart and do an amazing job of setting the ātoneā for the organizationā¦.a tone of Professionalism and Excellence and importantlyā¦.Love. They have created a Great Culture at Wags!
Lyndsay Daigle AND Kayla Williamson are Professional Dog Trainers at Wags AND they do an excellent job. They are the ones who trained Belle. They could not be more Professionalā¦..WE could not be more pleased.
Their Training Program is āProfessionalā from Start to Finish. We were given a Report Card every day on what they worked with Belle on. We had Homework Assignments to reinforce what had been taught. We had access to videos that help with skill building. We met once a week and all the skills that Belle had learned were reviewed with us Face to Face. AND techniques were demonstrated to us AND then we got to try them out in front of Lyndsay and Kayla.
We would usually drop Belle off prior to her training start time each day. The folks at the Front Desk checked her in quickly and professionally. Really Great people at the Front Desk!
While at training each day, we could watch Belle from the Wags camerasā¦.that was an added bonus.
If youāre looking for a Center Of Excellence for training your dogā¦..then Wags and Whiskers is the place. Although weāve not used them for boarding or for any of the other services they offerā¦.I donāt think itās much of a āleapā to say they would excel in those areas as well. I feel so confident in what they do that Iāll bet you a box of Milk Bones youāll be very pleased with Wags and Whiskers.
God Bless You AND your pet AND Thanks for taking the time to read this. Charles...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a funeral to attend out of state so I had to board my dog for the first time ever. I chose this facility based on the reviews. I dropped my dog off on a Friday morning and picked her up on the following Tuesday afternoon. After I got home I realized that none of the medication I provided them was administered to my dog during the entire visit. Luckily this medication was only for allergies rather than something more critical. I reached out to them and I was told the computer shows it was administered and they would investigate what happened. I have not received any feedback up to this point. I guess they trust their computer system more than a customer that has a valid complaint. I will not be using this place in the future and I will be sure to tell everyone about my experience.
I dropped her off with 8 pills and when I picked her up she had 8 pills so obviously your response below is not accurate or the truth. I know mistakes happen but trying to cover up a mistake and not taking ownership is not good for any business. Why would I bring this up if your staff had done what they were supposed to. I paid you $ 140.00 and did not dispute the charge which I could have. Thank you for not being a...
