Westgate Recreation Center — Local services in Dothan

Gosh this place is such a great local resource!!! A very reasonably priced fitness option for residents to have access to a gym, pool & more. We did the quarterly option which was very affordable at $55/total for TWO people! Includes the weight center, pool and whirlpool. Pool is awesome & found the open swim hours timing great! Spacious locker room with showers, private changing areas, restrooms & pay per use lockers. Staff was super helpful & friendly.

Only suggestions would be that the locker rooms could used updated. Just a bit older (but ALWAYS very clean & neat). Also - just a safety suggestion - it would be helpful to have some floor mats in the lockers rooms. It’s hard to get your feet dried off and the floor not be slippery. Also, this is the first pool I’ve been at that did not have a swimsuit spinner in the locker rooms to wring out bathing suits. That would be a great addition.

If I could give it zero stars I would, first the uneducated woman at the front tried to overcharged us to get in, lol luckily I know how to count because if not she would of jipped us, and then when we got into the pool one of the other uneducated racist meth looking life guards stated that the kids could not swim in the pool because what they had on was not swim apparel, note this was after that they got into the pool, there were kids there swimming that had on the same thing my kids had on but they didn't say a word to them, so I asked her my money will be refunded right? She stated since they already got into the pool my money probably won't be refunded...🤔😂, I don't know who she thought she was talking to but she quickly learned what I stood for, I looked her right into her eyes and told her "My Money Will Be Refunded" well of course they refunded me all my money😊 the employees are unprofessional, racist who don't know how to count, stay away...

Great place to swim but their showers are getting worse. Noticed black mold and I'm forever picking up lots of hair in the drains and that's not just the showers.The floors need some serious, serious seam cleaning and bleaching all over. I've heard swimmers say that they just rinse themself and take a shower at home 'cuz it's so nasty. I've noticed a lot of new swimmers lately and what kind of impression is Westgate in Dothan, Al. making to present and new residents. Clean up your act , WESTGATE and whomever is responsible ! ! !
